Fiction has taken side swipes
\nat Wolves and of course Bats
\nthey entered through the horror portal
\nsomewhat like the Gnats, the Rats even
\nthe Cats all sounding similar its true
\nfiction clearly did it and has been seen to do<\/p>\n
Bats are seen or rather unseen really for they fly
\nat night and live in places dark
\ngreat armies of them try
\nto wrestle with the darkness
\nand carry out the claim
\nof polishing off the insect hordes
\nwhich might somehow inflame<\/p>\n
those insect souls who suffer
\nas vanquished souls they must
\nbe swallowed in their billions
\nand transformed into dust
\nuniqueness is a virtue but unseen, souls
\nclearly can
\nrealise the complexity
\ncreated by one man<\/p>\n
Bram Stoker lit the fuse
\nand Bats blood sucking antics
\nwere
\npaired with damsels in distress
\nfiction did infer
\nit somewhat clouded the thoughts of many
\nand changed so many minds
\nto think of them as vampires
\nan evil which enshrines <\/p>\n
their place
\nin fact in Hollywood the vampire movies they
\nappealed to that fear factor
\nand again the Bats did pay
\nin reality they are wonderful
\nexposed to so much doubt
\nbut able to create a life
\na sort of coming out<\/p>\n
great armies stretch across the sky
\nwhen humans tend to be
\nrecounting all those nightmares
\nunder duvets seemingly
\na bit like frogs and toads
\nthey do consume their body weight
\nin insects that consume our grains
\nat an alarming rate<\/p>\n
so Bats really are our saviour
\nBut Big Pharma probably
\nsees them as a competitor
\nand therefore possibly
\ngoes along with the fiction
\npromotes it through and through
\nBats seen in a bad light
\nis a negative come true<\/p>\n
they are delightful creatures
\nin every single way
\nthey very seldom harm us
\nand they have had to pay
\na huge price for fiction
\nhas painted them so black
\nwhether that was intentional
\nit has been quite an attack<\/p>\n
hopefully as time passes
\nthey will be seen again
\nas angels dressed in nightime clothes
\nwho willnever be a bane
\non ours or anybody elses lives
\nfor as I’ve said
\nthey are our closest ally
