So many fuddy duddies
\nabout the place today
\ncontent with what they do in life
\nletting the planet pay
\nnot understanding how the poor
\nsuffer but grow strong
\nand treat them as if they don’t exist
\nwhich to me is completely wrong<\/p>\n
Think of all those animals
\nthey are not the brutes
\nthey are not the voiceless
\nthey too have their roots
\nmany of them closer
\nto Mother Earth for sure
\nwith an understanding
\nof the web of life they are more<\/p>\n
in tune with their environment
\nfor their feet touch the ground
\nwe encase ourselves in concrete
\nand think we are heaven bound
\nit is us creating hell on earth
\nfor the poor and for us all
\nwho see the sky and hear the cry
\nand experience the call<\/p>\n
For nature she is out there
\nshe tries to right our wrongs
\nthe oil spills and the the warring
\nand the terror as the throngs
\nmarch forward into battle
\nshe sheilds us from so much
\nbut we have found the forces
\nand being so out of touch<\/p>\n
with reality, some of us
\nmarch forward into war
\ntorturing the spirits
\nlike we never have before
\nmurdering the animals
\nfor fun that is our gaze
\nand eating them and treating them
\nlike just another phase<\/p>\n
energy another concept
\nwasted every day
\nthe wind the waves the water’s force
\nthe sun and its great praise
\nhumanity steps into the nuclear
\ndebate
\nconjurs up such evil
\nat an alarming rate<\/p>\n
Japan is swallowing down the pain
\nand quietly she goes on
\nplutonium and other sinful chemicals
\nupon
\nthis earth, this precious
\nwonderland is soaking up the dirt
\nand still man unkind arrogantly
\nwears his seal skin shirt<\/p>\n
alarming as it sounds
\nmarcellus shale below the earth
\n2 miles down some natural gas
\nthe frackers know its worth
\nto them, it is so personal
\nthey are prepared to lie
\ntelling us how safe it is
\nto extract it, which is why<\/p>\n
I fight these greedy bastards
\nthey forfeit freedom and
\nthey cut into the strata
\ninto someone else’s land
\nthey risk our precious water
\nthey risk our precious air
\nthey are a fracking insult
\nto the local people there<\/p>\n
The politicians praise them
\nand give them tax breaks, they
\nare as ignorant as the day is long
\nand they help to make us pay
\nfor the pleasure and the runination
\nof this planet earth
\nthey leave us with its embers
\nhopeful, of a clean rebirth.<\/p>\n

\nstand up to the giants
\nand tell the honest tale
\nlike candles in the night sky
\nthey illuminate from far
\nand pay the price for doing so
\nwounded, how they scar<\/p>\n
their spirit to be up there
\nfighting as they do
\nthe poet pushes words around
\nand finds himself askew
\nbut reality is on his side
\nas the mists are going to clear
\nand one hope that sanity emerges
