Grass fed
\nwhat a swizzle
\nwhat a sick short sighted show
\nhumanely raised on verdant grass
\nthat so succulently does grow
\nthe poor calf locked into a cage
\nnot much bigger than he
\nand left to chew between his feet
\nfree supposedly<\/p>\n
out there in the sunshine
\nto ruminate a way
\nfree ranging like some dreamy state
\nof consciousness we pay
\nmore for such a picture
\nin our minds eye what we see
\nis utter freedom the green green grass
\nand joviality<\/p>\n
but really he is a prisoner
\nin a roving mobile cage
\nhe certainly cannot turn around
\nas we can turn a page
\nhe is trapped which is unnerving
\nfor he can see so much
\nthe green fields over yonder
\nbut of course he cannot touch<\/p>\n
his mothers milk is not for him
\nit was made for him but he
\nis not about to drink it
\nhumans get to see
\nmore of it than any calf
\nhe is mean’t for veal
\nthree months in this fucking cage
\nthats his life for real<\/p>\n
the farmer who employs this method
\nwhat I think of you
\nis you are pain in all our arses
\nto contemplate and do
\nthis to any baby calf
\nwho needs nutrition but
\nof course you have a better idea
\nkeep the wired cage shut <\/p>\n
when the grass is mowed down
\nmove the cage and calf
\na kind of open prison
\nin meaning a bout half
\ngrass fed my god farmers
\nyou play and others cry
\nprofit what a way to earn it
