I am Nanuk, a Persian Cat
\nBorn in old Iran
\nMy guardian is Lone Wolf
\nAnd he’s a fine young man
\nHis heart is with the animals
\nHis feelings with the birds
\nHis soul<\/a> is with the wild wolves
\nAnd he has a gift with words
\nThe other night he came home
\nHe’d been visiting someone
\nAnd his scent was very different
\nA wildness that did stun
\nI snuggled up,and buried my nose in his clothes<\/a>
\nAnd knew
\nThrough all the generations
\nThat potency came through
\nThe Nile that raging torrent
\nIts anger in the clouds
\nStalking in the wetlands
\nIn the tall long grassy shrouds
\nA solitary fellow,
\nambushing wild prey
\nA Jungle Cat’s ancestral scent
\nIs what I smelled today
\nAnd leaping for those fishes
\nAnd catching birds in flight
\nAware of some bold crocodile
\nWho will use his guile and might
\nA Bear even a Jackal, those creatures
\nwin<\/a> respect
\nThat minty reed where the wild feed
\nIn whose bosom, I detect
\nSuch majesty, such peacefulness
\nI lie there circumspect
\nImagining the firery breath
\nThe slobber and the gait
\nOf a wolf or two thats broken through
\nAnd is about to show its trait
\nLone wolf has seen a Jungle Cat
\nA survivor in Tehran
\nWho was fortunate to come on through
\nAll the stresses caused by man
\nAnd its innocence and its sharing
\nWith another soul Lone’s friend
\nWho also has a heart of gold
\nAnd is prepared to tend
\nTo love and nurture a wild thing
\nTo encourage it to be
\nReady in a few short months
\nTo return to savagery
\nThe wild ones live their lives
\nand run the gauntlet every day
\nSometimes as I sit beside the fire
\nClose to Lone, I pay
\nSome sweet respects to my ancestors
\nWhose prowess won the day<\/p>\n

Now I hardly ever go<\/a> out
\nand feel the air
\nI’m a pretty handsome Persian Cat
\nWho truly loves to share
\nMy life with Lone my guardian
\nWho feeds me and who cares
\nHe, never ever, raises his voice
\nHe, never ever, swears
\nHe is a vegan through and through
\nAnd I have to say
\nI love him too
\nIts funny The scent of that Jungle Cat
