You don’t have to know much
\nabout this story
\nyour eyes and ears and heart
\nthey tell it all
\na German Shepherd
\nlived out back for 4 years
\ntethered to a tree
\nthere as a rule<\/p>\n
he didn’t get much water
\nhe didn’t get much food
\nhe didn’t know what love was
\nand his owner was just crude<\/p>\n
hed dropped weight down to 60 pounds
\nmostly skin and bone
\nhis ribs and spine were evident
\nand of course he’d been alone<\/p>\n
imagine it for 4 years
\nthrough all weathers he was there
\nthe fleas had taken residence
\nhis body was despair<\/p>\n
smothered in these fleas he was
\nwhen washed his whole skin bled
\nsuppuration his salvation
\nhe was really left for dead<\/p>\n
in a very sorry state
\nhe must have wondered whether
\nhe would ever be released
\nfrom his painful tether<\/p>\n
his owner said he kept him outside
\n“for a human he was not”
\nthat I think refers to him
\nfor clearly he was shot<\/p>\n
away, a mental nightmare
\nand just guess what was his fine
\n25 bucks this bloody sucks!
\nbut really its a sign<\/p>\n
that America doesn’t have a clue
\nthis was such wilful abuse
\n25 bucks I mean to say
\nthe threat of perhaps a noose<\/p>\n
might just have got him thinking
\nwhat he’d done was wrong
\nand they were going make him suffer
\nbecause, he didn’t belong<\/p>\n
anywhere near animals
\nbut he got no ban at all
\nthe laws an ass for certain
\nits all, going to the wall<\/p>\n
the government have shut down
\nthey are following this guy
\ntorment and torture and animal
\nuntil the soul does cry<\/p>\n
openly on camera it matters not ok
\nit 7$ a year the fine he got
\nand that’s no way
\nwhat has he learned from that fine
\nits measly and small
\ntotally ineffective
\nan insult for us all<\/p>\n
he should have been banged up for that
\nand given a dozen lashes
\nlet him feel what that dog has felt
\nand rub salt in those gashes<\/p>\n
PAWS now have dear Joseph they’ve renamed
\nso to say
\nlets hope he gets adopted
\nby someone who loves the way
\nhe is who loves his temperament
\nhis courage and his heart
\nand looks after him forever
\nuntil death ddoth them part<\/p>\n
