Like an enormous puffball
\ncreated out of air
\nthe Roundhouse its on top of you
\nyes suddenly its there
\na great round ball like structure
\na railway shed it seems
\nbut now an area of creation
\ngiving meaning to one’s dreams
\nlast night Young Katie Melua
\na diminutive young soul
\nwho took the stage and rocked lets say
\nshe transcended to a role
\nof a diva so resplendent
\nin her glittery first dress
\nthis angelic soul from Georgia
\nwas lovely I confess
\nher voice has so much clarity
\npower yet subtle tone
\nabove that brilliant band of hers
\nher voice was heard alone
\nher command of glorious diction
\nswept all before her she
\nmoved everybody in that crowd
\nto a state of such vivacity
\nthe house itself is remarkable
\nits iron work and its shape
\nit lends itself to performance
\nits a world where one can escape
\nand the lighting was sensational
\nso creative full of flair
\nand the music the resounding beat
\nof the drums were everywhere
\nthis was a fine production
\nthe song choices so were
\nbalanced and varied and beautiful
\nsung with a charming air
\nthe band were unbelievable
\nthe Georgian choir were too
\nand the combination of all of that
\nreally led us through
\nsome beautiful arrangements
\nwith Katie’s clear pure voice
\nreaching to our inner selves
\nthere was so much choice
\nand everyone delivered
\nwith an inspirational call
\nthis marked the end of her first
\n10 years
\nwith this frankly heavenly wall
\nof sounds and lights and magic
\nthat took us all by storm
\non a brilliant night in October
\nthe air was sort of warm
\nbut the impact of her and her music
\nwas remarkable for me
\n“Ketevan” her new album
\nwhich she sampled generously<\/p>\n
In a state of some euphoria
\nwe left and walk to where
\nwe had left the car
\njust almost moved to tears
\nto have been there
\nthe band was something else
\ntruly I have to say
\nclearly the greatest talent there
\nthe drummer I thought wow and each of them
\nreally shone last night
\ntheir synergy was paramount
\nthey created so much light<\/p>\n
the roundhouse is a spectacular place
\nthere is a friendliness that shows
\na willingness to help
\nits an atmosphere that grows
\nand Katie spread the happiness
\nsuch emotion and such feeling
\naround those myriad circles
\nwhich was clearly so revealing
\nheads were rocking toes were tapping
\nit was powered up fun
\neveryone was happy
\nand I haven’t over spun
\nanything it was wonderful
\na joyful night for all
\na crispness and a clarity
\nand a gentle clarion call<\/p>\n
Ketevan her latest album
\nbrimming with new songs
\nwith subtle tastes of Georgia
\nand the sea where she belongs
\nthe back drop on the stage
\nwas of a seascape and the form
\ngave us a lot of insight
\nto the approaching storm
\nand the light and the percussion
\nand that sweet voice rising free
\ncreated a great picture
\nto hear and of course to see<\/p>\n
