Yea I’m a koala an iconic soul
\nborn in Australia that was my role
\nVictoria land of the lovely sunshine
\ndenuded and gasping
\nno one sees the sign
\nkoala it says on the sign by the road
\nalong come the loggers
\ntheir highway code<\/p>\n
is strip out our homes
\ntear down our trees
\nAmerican Blue Gum not now
\nit would please
\nall of us here
\nthat you realise, we
\nwere born in Australia
\nand we can see<\/p>\n
our brothers and sisters
\ndying each day
\nas you come here
\nand bulldoze our homes
\nclean away
\nblue gum is giving us
\nanguish and fear
\nwe sleep 20 hours
\nand it now does appear
\nthe worst of our nightmares
\nare anguish about
\nthe facts you don’t care
\nyou don’t care about<\/p>\n
Koala’s
\nand we’re born here
\nwe were born and bred
\nand most of us tragically
\nare ending up dead
\nthe industry denies
\nthe killing goes on
\nbut some whistle blowers
\nknow we are upon
\ntheir trees and are dying
\nopen your eyes
\nfor that Japanese paper
\nthey take out the wise<\/p>\n
for wood chip we perish
\nhow can that be fair
\nan Industry casualty
\narn’t you aware
\nI broke my leg
\nand was torn up inside
\nwhen I heard an American
\ntry to confide
\nin another he said
\nall these furry critters
\nare dying I tell you

\nwhy nobody cares

\neconomics is better
