I find it quite remarkable
\nthat the human being feels
\nit actually would be better
\nto take on the appeals
\ntheir subtle really
\nthey are in your face
\nwith the packaging and display
\nwith the advertising material
\nthat goes on everyday<\/p>\n
The governments are wary
\nmay be they understand
\nthey want to share the action
\nthe fire now it is fanned
\nis burning in the marketplace
\nand profits are afoot
\nso the government wants some of that
\nI hope I’ve kind of put<\/p>\n
their “soul” responsibility
\ninto the melting pot
\nbecause they add their vat
\nthen it costs a lot
\nmore than if unprocessed
\nand therefore cheaper for
\nthe consumer in the long run
\nwho can choose to eat more<\/p>\n
and there’s much more reason to
\ndo this than buy into their craze
\nof juicing everything in sight
\nwhich creates a new malaise
\nlets take the goddess apple
\na wonderfully packaged fruit
\ncontaining all the fibre
\nand juice blended to suit
\nwhatever taste we are after
\nits there all we have to do
\nis take bites from it
\nuse our teeth and saliva
\nand just chew<\/p>\n
that activates our digestion
\nthat cleanses as it goes
\nall the antioxidants
\nand phytonutrients shows
\nall the fine trace elements
\nin the right proportion
\nbalanced and presented
\nwithout the vile contortion<\/p>\n
pick an apple from a tree
\nwhat better fresher taste
\nchew it slowly taste its glory
\nnothing goes to waste
\nfeel how good it makes you
\nits generosity
\ncreated out of rain and shine
\nand wind and its all free<\/p>\n
now take the other variety
\njuiced oh! dearie me
\nthe complex world of processing
\ncomes home and where are we
\nwe cannot be where juicing
\ntakes place
\nwe’re far away
\nwhich is when the juice processor
\nstarts to make their play<\/p>\n
in fact they never meet us
\nour nutrition is not their bent
\nthey want to make a profit
\nfor all the time they spent
\nprocessing these apples
\nbottling them they see
\nthe original fruit as nothing
\nunlike you and me<\/p>\n
creation they discounted
\nthey can better show
\nby crushing the perfect package
\nthat was fashioned on the tree
\nand cooking it and removing
\nthe taste known as top notes
\nand changing it and manipulating
\nwhat goes down our throats<\/p>\n
they can standardise our
\nexperience
\nin fact they can control
\nbut nature she knew better
\nshe gave that product soul
\nand we just destroyed it
\nand in doing so we changed
\nthe concept she was offering us
\nand as we re arranged<\/p>\n
the whole it became less
\nnutritionally it was poor
\nthe fibre now was wasted
\nso what was it all for
\nprofit is the simple answer
\nat the expense of health
\nthe prophet was the one
\nwho left the bottle
\non the shelf<\/p>\n
and went and picked the apple
\nfor the profit then was there
\nfresh and the human processor
\nwith digestive juices share
\nthe aeons of production
\nthe rain the breeze and sun
\nthe rich composted loam of love
\nthat together had been spun<\/p>\n
smoothies ah! another money spinner
\nin the pot
\nInnocent not coca cola
\nsaying that is rot!
\na mish mosh of flavours
\nwith added sugar too
\nand even fibre sometimes
\nin the form of flour
\nit won’t do<\/p>\n
its adding complications
\nto what would have been
\nthe whole
\nfresh fruit salad
\nis possible seasonally
\ngreat soul
\nbut picked from any region
\nand presented in this way
\nis too complex an issue
\nto profit on today<\/p>\n
in Americana Tropicana
\nis Pepsi Cola’s they
\nare making quite a killing there
\nand yes taking away
\nthe naturalness of fresh fruit
\npresenting it so we
\ncan open up our cartons
\nand swallow instantly<\/p>\n
I say this from the heart
\nNature she knows best
\nshe is up to all of it
\nshe surpasses every test
\nshe creates and equilibrium
\nshe’s good at it for she
\nwants the best for all of us
\nand really that is key<\/p>\n
I urge you to remember this
\nwhen at the superstore
\nand now the ruination
\nis coming more and more
\nhigh fructose corn syrup
\naspartame and more
\nnow get into the action
\nand create a mini war<\/p>\n
inside your marvellous bodies
\naffecting your brilliant brain
\nchemical resistance
\ntry not to be profane
\nrespect our mothers intuition
