a baby a sweet little innocent
\nsoul finding its feet
\nbut losing control
\nout and about its inquisitive mind
\nlooking here looking there
\nto see what it can find
\nand walking right into
\na great hellish snare
\nthat was covered up
\nhoping something big
\nmight go there
\nand when they come back
\nas all trappers do
\nwhen they see a small fawn
\nthey just take a view
\nit is trash
\nwithout value
\nall they can do
\nis stomp on its head
\nfor a moment or two
\njust an innocent child
\nlife has not yet begun
\nand now she is dying
\nout in the sun
\nwatching the butterflies
\ndancing away
\nleaning to fly
\nand wanting to play
\nher mum cannot help her
\nnobody can
\nwhen the trappers arrive
\nlife will go down the pan
\nshe is a just worthless
\nits best that she dies
\nputs her head on the ground
\nand just closes her eyes
\nof course its not fair
\nhow can it be
\nthis was her first outing
\nsomething to see
\nand that is her last
\nits a very sad thing
\nmy heart cries for her
\nand the angels may bring
\na lasting embrace
\nand take her away
\nto the great rainbow bridge
\nat the end of the day
\nas to trappers who vile
\nwork I do so abhor
\nhow they tick I don’t know
\nnobody’s sure
\nhow they could kill a baby
