When Animals Asia rescued
\ndear old Oliver
\nthey knew that he was suffering
\nin great pain
\nin a cage for 30 years
\none look and you feel your tears
\nwelling up inside
\nlife was the bane
\nof every hour of every day
\nof everything he did
\nhe couldn’t stand
\nhe was buckled over
\nhe just could not get rid
\nof the metal jacket with
\nspikes on it sticking in his neck
\nstopping him from lifting his head
\nmaking him check
\nand being like this all that time
\nhunched over he became
\nstiff and just arthritic
\nhis lungs compressed the same
\nproblems being in that state
\nhis teeth were broken by
\nbiting the bars his frustration
\nits not hard to see why
\nhis eyes were closed
\none eye had burst imagine
\nthe great pain
\nthey were taking bile out of him
\nfor their financial gain
\nthe soreness of an open wound
\nand infection its so bad
\nhe must have reached his lowest point
\nhe must have felt so sad<\/p>\n
Leaving Shandong province
\non a truck in Winter time
\nthey had do some surgery on him
\nhe couldn’t climb, anywhere
\nso they had to do it on the truck
\nand he
\njust had to be up to it
\nand he was, hopefully
\nsome TLC some good food
\nand the absence of the bile
\nallowing his body to recover a bit
\nand just try and reconcile, himself
\nwith what is happening
\nhow fortunate to be
\nrescued and looked after
\nafter years of purgatory<\/p>\n
he must feel so dejected
\nbeing in so much pain
\nand being helped a lot
\nyou remember it again
\nit brings it all back to you
\nthose 30 long long years
\nthose nights when you were crying
\nand sharing all your tears<\/p>\n
with the concrete and the metal bars
\nfor nobody did care
\nyou could bellow till you were yellow
\nfor nobody could share
\nhis wildness probably set him up
\nfor the boredom and the pain
\nbut the period to be alone
\nof course is bound to drain<\/p>\n
Oliver will get some help
\nand love will come his way
\nand probably he will get the chance
\nto walk and somehow play
\nextend his legs a little
\nand breathe some nice fresh air
\nand drink some lovely water
\nand be glad he’s not back there<\/p>\n
it will never ever leave him
\nhe will harp back to those days
\nbut if he can now look forward
\nand build up little ways
\nof getting some enjoyment
\nan interface or two
\nperhaps his last years on this earth
\nhe will get a better view<\/p>\n
of humanity its not easy
\nhe might go to his grave
\nremembering the bad times
\nand recall now just how brave
\nhe was not to give up on it
\nto battle on and feel
\nthere was a chance however slim
\nand its now happened for real<\/p>\n
So our eyes are all on Oliver
\nthe dear old rescued Bear
\nwho took the 30 years of pain
\nwhere nobody did care
\nhe was just a bile machine
\nhe was violated so
\nbeaten into submission
\nso he couldn’t even grow<\/p>\n
he couldn’t even develop
\nhis bones were cranked back so
\nhe became subjected
\nto such torture down below
\nits mesmerizingly simple
\nthe pain he’s had to bear
\nbut despite all what he’s gone through
\nhe must now be aware<\/p>\n
and lets hope he finds some solace
\nlets hope the pain subsides
\nlets hope his new found freedom
\nkind of helps and rides
\ntowards a better outlook
\nand a feeling which would be
\nmore positive and looking forward
\nto some creativity<\/p>\n
to some better thoughts
\nand a lowering in the various bouts
\nof pain
\nsome help it will be happening
\nand releasing some strain
\nsome good food in his stomach
\nto help him through the night
\nand that sleep will kind of soften him
