{"id":11199,"date":"2013-09-19T06:07:29","date_gmt":"2013-09-19T06:07:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cooksdelight.co.uk\/blog\/?p=11199"},"modified":"2013-09-19T06:11:21","modified_gmt":"2013-09-19T06:11:21","slug":"syria-a-childs-perspective","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cooksdelight.co.uk\/blog\/2013\/09\/syria-a-childs-perspective\/","title":{"rendered":"Syria   ( a child&#8217;s perspective)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The powder keg blew<br \/>\nwe were out on the street<br \/>\nwith our olive branches<br \/>\nand our aching feet<br \/>\nsome hearts were broken<br \/>\nbut seemingly we<br \/>\nmade our voice heard<br \/>\nhumanity<br \/>\nsaw retaliation<br \/>\nthe bullets did fly<br \/>\npeople fell down<br \/>\nmany did die<br \/>\nordinary people<br \/>\npeople like you<br \/>\npeople like me<br \/>\nwanting to do<br \/>\nwhat all people<br \/>\nwant to just live in peace<br \/>\nto just see some fairness<br \/>\nand for war&#8217;s to cease<\/p>\n<p>bombs shells and bullets<br \/>\nare now everywhere<br \/>\nand if your a child<br \/>\nwho is also aware<br \/>\nof the dangers around you<br \/>\nwhat can you do<br \/>\nbut wait to be injured<br \/>\nwhat is the view<br \/>\nwhat have you got<br \/>\nto live for today<br \/>\nwhat is there out there<br \/>\nwhere is the way<br \/>\nforward away from the blood and the war<br \/>\nand the sins of those warriors<br \/>\ncovered in gore<br \/>\nof the banging of drums<br \/>\nof the frightening sound<br \/>\nas shells explode everywhere<br \/>\nin it we&#8217;re drowned<br \/>\nseeing a friend with her head<br \/>\nblown away<br \/>\nshe was my best friend<br \/>\nI loved her each day<br \/>\nthat I saw her<br \/>\nI loved her for<br \/>\nshe was my all<br \/>\nand now she is dead<br \/>\nshe smiled then did fall<br \/>\nflat on her face<br \/>\nso much blood everywhere<br \/>\nI cannot face life<br \/>\nand so much despair<\/p>\n<p>hatred and sinfulness<br \/>\nblackens the sky<br \/>\nthe screams and the ugliness<br \/>\nof course I ask why<br \/>\nI can&#8217;t comprehend all this mayhem<br \/>\nfor I<br \/>\nloved my life up to now<br \/>\nbut I now want to die<\/p>\n<p>she&#8217;s gone she was taken<br \/>\nmy sweet darling girl<br \/>\nI&#8217;m just 14 years old<br \/>\nand I want to hurl<br \/>\nmyself off this building<br \/>\nand die where I fall<br \/>\nin the arms of the angels<br \/>\nwho I now hear call<\/p>\n<p>I cannot go on<br \/>\nwith this life that is here<br \/>\nhaving lost my dear friend<br \/>\nit is very clear<br \/>\nI could be shot too<br \/>\nI could be lost<br \/>\nwhat is all about<br \/>\nwhy does it cost<br \/>\nso much to be living<br \/>\nand going to school<br \/>\nand eating with mummy and daddy and all<br \/>\nthe things normal people do<br \/>\nwhy is it to be<br \/>\noverturned lorries<br \/>\nand fires constantly<\/p>\n<p>I cannot go out<br \/>\nI cannot stay here<br \/>\nwe don&#8217;t know what to do<br \/>\nthere is so much fear<br \/>\nand I still see her face<br \/>\nand remember her eyes<br \/>\nand her soft tender hands<br \/>\nshe was ever so wise<\/p>\n<p>and they blew away<br \/>\nwith their bullets and she<br \/>\nsmiled just once more<br \/>\nas she looked at me<br \/>\nas her blood spurted everywhere<br \/>\nand she just fell<br \/>\nlike a doll that was broken<br \/>\nand that&#8217;s when the Hell<br \/>\nI had heard of I realised<br \/>\nit was now here<br \/>\nand since that has happened<br \/>\nI have a tear<br \/>\nin my eye all the time<br \/>\nit just rolls on and on<br \/>\nI cannot I will  not<br \/>\naccept she is gone<\/p>\n<p>She was such a angel<br \/>\nshe looked after me<br \/>\nwhat can I do now<br \/>\nif her I can&#8217;t see<br \/>\nmy whole life is thwarted<br \/>\nthis town that I knew<br \/>\nits trees and its sky<br \/>\nand the soft morning dew<br \/>\nand the birds in the tree tops<br \/>\nthe flowers in her hair<br \/>\nand now its just mayhem<br \/>\nand blood everywhere<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The powder keg blew we were out on the street with our olive branches and our aching feet some hearts were broken but seemingly we made our voice heard humanity saw retaliation the bullets did fly people fell down many &hellip;
