In the back of beyond
\nwhere the ice and the snow
\nare one with the sky
\nits where oil drills go
\nShell and their partners
\nGazprom are there
\ndrilling into the ice
\na bounty to share
\ninto this environment
\ncold and pristine
\ntechnology rips through
\nthe land that has been
\nundisturbed through the
\nages
\nand thus all the more
\nreason to care and be
\nsure to abhor<\/p>\n
those who would plunder
\nthe riches it holds
\nand this is the drama
\nthat clearly unfolds
\nthe risks are immense
\nits nonsensical to
\npillage and rape
\nwhat we have
\nthat’s my view<\/p>\n
Greenpeace has warriors
\nall armed with love
\nthe care the commitment
\ngiven to the dove
\npeaceful but clearly
\nserious they
\nput their lives on the line
\nfor the Planet Today
\nup against heathens
\nBIG energy’s souls
\ntrying to exert all
\nof their controls
\nso much of this power base
\nthat’s out there Today
\nare unaware of the risks
\nthat abound anyway<\/p>\n
they care little for virgin
\nlands they want it all
\nwhilst Greenpeace and its angels
\nare now against the wall
\nto evolve to protect to share
\nand to save
\nthe vast pristine places
\nthe home of the brave<\/p>\n
Greenpeace its activists
\narrested and told
\nshot at and threatened
\nin terror their rolled
\nyou have our respect
\nour love and our thought
\nand we all must stand by them
\nfor we are all caught<\/p>\n
in this maelstrom of evil
\nthis selfish wish to
\nplunder and pillage and ruin
\nand do
\nthe dirty
\nthe prophets no where to be found
\nwhen the profits are high
\nfrom the oil in the ground<\/p>\n
