This morning seeing this
\nsmall dog hanging by a rope
\nmade me sink into myself
\nam I to lose all hope
\nin what once was humanity
\nmankind and all that stuff
\nas a animal rights poet
\nhave I seen enough?
\nam I, too give up the ghost
\nand realise that we
\nare too far down the road
\nand reaching true depravity
\nto ever now imagine
\nthere is a way back and
\nby trying to be positive
\nand trying to understand
\nwhat’s happening and why is it
\nthat human beings do
\nsuch really rather grotesque acts
\nsome just out of the blue<\/p>\n
here we have a playground
\nwhere little children play
\nand hanging on the railings
\na dog has been left today
\nthe dog has been hung
\nits dead, its there
\nfor all of us to see
\nwhy its happened
\nand why its there
\nis it the mystery<\/p>\n
that some might tell us
\ncandidly
\nto me the hate appears
\neverywhere engendered
\nby a wealth of unknown fears
\nthat cruelty has surfaced
\nand risen to such a height
\nis a critical distraction
\nwith a quite destructive bite<\/p>\n
its the general numbing process
\nthat’s been going on for years
\nit used to be subliminal
\nbut now despite the tears
\nits in the face of everyone
\nwho choose just to switch on
\nand absorb the propaganda
\nnow openly played upon<\/p>\n
all the general networks
\nits every single day
\nI chose to throw the telly in the skip
\nwhich was a ray
\nof hope for me, but others
\ncontinue just to be
\nopen to the garbage
\nfed to them hourly<\/p>\n
they are messing with your heads
\nand they are messing with your guts
\npeople are turning into trolls
\nas each corporation struts
\nits stuff across the planet
\nlike huge machines we see
\nthem even spending millions
\nto oppose pure sanity<\/p>\n
so wickedness is growing
\nimmorality is here
\ndegeneration of a species
\nseemingly is clear
\nand the animal earthlings suffer
\nthe frustration some now feel
\nall the pent up anger
\nthat for some is very real<\/p>\n
irredeemable irreclaimable
\nand infernal march to hell
\nGreece exposes problems
\nand abyss some know so well
\na daily vice of terror
\nunleashed for all to see
\nthe conscienceless are out there
\nas debauched as they can be<\/p>\n
alongside them are angels
\nready to give a hand
\nready to love and care for
\nso its hard to understand
\nhow neighbours living closely
\nsome turn bad and those
\nothers remain angels
\nworthy of some prose<\/p>\n
it comes down to our thinking
\nare we selfishly to be
\nsoaking up the media
\nso unthinkingly
\nperhaps if we just thought it through
\na bit more we might see
\nhow we were being led astray
\nhow we were now less free<\/p>\n
to make our own sweet choices
\nto care and love those who
\nshared the same philosophy
\nand many others do
\nthis dog now hanging on a chain
\nin a children’s playground seems
\nto be there perhaps to warn us all
\nhe is real, some of the dreams<\/p>\n
we had, and all the nightmares
\nare coming home to roost
\nthe perpetrators of these crimes
\nmaybe they get a boost
\nfrom seeing their work on the internet
\nbut this little soul who died
\nwho was hung by his poor hungry neck
\ngot kind of
\ncrucified!<\/p>\n
there is no rhyme or reason
\nfor all species can share
\nthe water and the food that’s grown
\nand of course the air
\nthere is no fear that any of this
\nwill ever run out, we
\nmust share for sharing is the price
\nof true humanity<\/p>\n
corporate greed has stifled
\nthe principle of love
\nits frightened many people
\nthe clutter from above
\nis reaching peoples stomachs
\nits reaching peoples ears
\nits tearing at their sinew
\nand creating in them fears<\/p>\n
they look around for scapegoats
\nthey have no power and they
\nfeel now so frustrated
\nthey make the weaker pay
\nits the same corporate methods
\nadopted by the poor
\non those considered poorer
\nwho have to know what for<\/p>\n
with arguments always raging
\nGreece descends each day
\nits animals are going through the mill
\nhow can we allay?
\nthe suffering they are feeling
\nthe hardships that become
\nimportant to those now immersed
\nas they hear the incessant drum
\nof humanity now pounding
\ninside their being, they
\nare being drawn down ever deeper
\nevery single day<\/p>\n
and those who cannot hack it
\ntake it out on those
\nwho also cannot hack it
\nand so the feeling grows
\nand the animals are feeling it
\nevery single soul
\nis getting close to breaking point
\nno one can console<\/p>\n
anyone,the cacophony
\nis almost too loud and we
\nobserve the evil coming out
\nof Greece its exposed and we see
\nhorror, terror, evil and every single hour
\nhear the cries of anguish
\nas the powerless people cower
\ninside themselves inside their heads
\ninside their hovels, they
\nare all crying like babies
\nbut nobody knows a way<\/p>\n
