Who knows what macho
\nnut cases
\nroam around these days
\nin the municipal in Kozani region
\nthere were a lots of strays
\nsome 30 or so wandering
\nthe streets around the town
\nof Ardassa
\nbut what has transpired
\nhas dragged the region down<\/p>\n
to the dumps of expectation
\nto the gutter of desire
\nfor 30 of these poor sad dogs
\nwere blinded by the fire
\nof food from some kind stranger
\nwho brought them to be fed
\nhaving laced the bowls with poison
\nenough to kill them dead<\/p>\n
but before they died
\nthey were tied with wire
\nand dragged behind a truck
\ndragged through flinty stony paths
\nthat burned and cut, their luck
\nclearly ran out rapidly
\nwhen whoever came to smile
\nand offer them their just reward
\na rather dangerous pile<\/p>\n
of poisoned food and they of course
\nwere hungry
\nthere gums were red and raw
\ntheir ribs were poking skywards
\nsome were at death’s door
\nwhen man un kind was let loose
\nto destroy them and to see
\nthem die screaming in that far off field
\nwhere some were seen to be<\/p>\n
vomiting and retching their stomachs
\ndistended so
\nwhatever the bloody poison was
\nthe agony did grow
\none dog, was shot, through the head
\nand lay in a pool of blood
\nand one pregnant cat, was shot as well
\nin what must have been a thud<\/p>\n
as it crushed her tiny stomach
\nas she realised that she
\nwas perishing in this awful field
\nwith her babies numbered three
\nthe villagers are beside themselves
\nwhat some of their kind have done
\nthought themselves so clever
\nand did they enjoy the fun<\/p>\n
of murdering these innocent souls
\nwhose only crime was they
\nwere put out on the streets by human scum
