\nthey are richer by far
\nmore now succeed
\nand so they are willing
\nto buy ivory
\nforgetting the animals
\nand where they be<\/p>\n
creating a marketplace
\nnow everywhere
\nleading alas to months
\nof despair
\nof poisonings, shootings
\ncarnage abroad
\nin Africa really
\nthat cannot afford<\/p>\n
butchering animals
\nin this vile way
\nleaving their carcass
\nto just melt away
\ncoming upon what is
\nsomething so sad
\nthe remains of the animals
\nof course its bad<\/p>\n
they are gentle and huge
\nthey are lovely to see
\nalive with their babies
\nwandering free
\nbut lying in heaps
\ntheir tusks hacked away
\nwith great sores
\non their heads and they pay<\/p>\n
with the vilest of agony
\nas slowly they die
\nsome left for days
\nwe have to ask why
\nthese cruel nasty buggers
\ndescend into hell
\nand do what they do
\nbut not very well<\/p>\n
thousands have been killed
\nthis year alone
\npoaching is rampant
\nthe crisis was known
\nback in 99 50 years ago
\nbut now with the upsurge in China
\nthe flow<\/p>\n
is startling everyone
\nsome do not know
\nthat the ivory means
\nlots of elephants go
\nin a terrible way
\ntheir blood it is spilled
\nsome do not know this
\nthat these souls are killed<\/p>\n
and so we must tell them
\nthat whatever they buy
\nmany souls fell
\nand many souls die
\ncrashing down into the bush
\nthose poor dears
\nhacked with machetes
\na face full of tears<\/p>\n
required by the hoodlums
\nthe poachers and trolls
\nwho do their dark duty
\nthey all lost their souls
\nthey are terribly twisted
\nand torn into knots
\nFinancially bankrupt
\nand ruled by these snots<\/p>\n
these black marketeers
\nwho care nothing to see
\na beautiful elephant
\ndefiled, tragically
\nmore education
\nfor Chinese who buy
\npictures around let them know why
\nits wrong to buy ivory
\nterribly wrong
\nfor this day and age
\nit just doesn’t belong<\/p>\n
there are other materials
\nout there today
\nkilling the elephants
\nmaking them pay
\nwith their precious lives
\nfor a buddha or two
\nis terribly wrong
\nand then all life through
\nas more and more elephants
\ndie we shall see
\nextinction is coming
\nthen where will we be<\/p>\n
China must wake up
\nthe Chinese must know
\nthere’s only so many
\nthe victims do grow
\nAfrica is losing so many each year
\nin a maelstrom of murder
