In such vast open spaces
\ngreat winds pick up and curl
\nmassive hand full’s of sand are scooped
\nin great cauldrons they hurl
\nshifting sands come hither
\nlike golden oceans they
\nrage across horizons
\nand swallow up our day<\/p>\n
the dromedaries whispering gait
\nglide like phantoms through it all
\ncoming into focus
\nas the curtain starts to fall
\na storm of dust springs skywards
\na great wall doth divide
\nwith shadows ever looming
\nits all taken in their stride<\/p>\n
they are the ships now sailing
\nthrough the sands of time
\nthe rippling sun baked mirage
\nthat floats and starts to climb
\na sidewinder skews across the sand
\nits pattern left for those
\nwho see the river swallowing
\nup the sand as if it knows<\/p>\n
to gulp all those particulates
\nand swallow them with ease
\nbehold the flute and all that breath
\nhelps now to appease
\nany fear of being lost
\nin this wilderness of sand
\nthe desert, part of Nature
\nsculpted by a greater hand<\/p>\n
than any we may ever see
\nand great breaths beyond our thought
\nthe ever changing panorama
\nin its clutches caught
\nelephants just elephants
\na herd why were they there
\nsuddenly they left the scene
\nother climes to share<\/p>\n
a myriad of experiences
\ncaught up in it all
\na glimpse of our great mother’s power
