Dog meat has been eaten
\nfor several thousand years
\nin China and Korea,
\nit’s what they do
\nThe West eats piglets,
\nlittle lambs, and baby cows
\nand little baby chickens
\nso a clue
\nSome people have been
\ngetting high and mighty
\npointing fingers at the Chinese, they
\nMust understand
\neach to his own culture
\nIf that is why they eat it,
\nits okay<\/p>\n
We perhaps should go off to the slaughterhouse
\nOr some of the illegal places where
\nthey just, don’t eat dogs
\nBut they steal them from young kids
\nAnd mince them up,
\nin hot dogs for some fair
\nSome low life Butchers
\ndo all sorts of crappy things
\nTo earn a crust
\nmay be a rat or two
\nscrapings off the block,
\nsawdust off the floor
\nWill guarantee a day off work
\nand maybe even more.<\/p>\n
Cats were often used
\nin Chinese Restaurants
\nOne closed down
\nin Berkhamsted yes where they
\nHad paid some local lads
\nto steal the moggies
\nAnd made them into
\ncurried Take away
\nSo culture and sub-culture
\nsees a lot of stuff
\nGoing on and we must take a view
\nRealise and get to grips
\nwith what some people eat
\nAnd try to understand
\nthat’s what they do<\/p>\n
The way so many Animals
\nare treated before slaughter
\nWe do need ofcourse to regulate
\nWhat is right, and what is wrong
\nWhats been going on a long
\nTime in different places might
\ngive grounds to derogate
\nresponsiblity, to some religion
\npersonally as a vegan I believe
\nAnimals are integrally a part of
\nall creation
\nand have the right of life
\nand should achieve
\nTheir time on earth as devised
\nby their creator
\nWhich clearly isn’t what we are seeing
\nhere
\nFactory Farming methods are reducing
\ntheir lifespan ,and creating concentration
\nCamps of fear<\/p>\n
Bush meat is another
\npractice from abroad
\nendangered primates
\noften for the pot
\nExotic meats are advertised
\nby restaurants
\nTiger Steaks and Crocodile,
\na lot
\nof species like the Buffalo
\nand Ostrich come to mind
\nConsideration of why people
\nwant to try and find
\nAll these different animals
\nand think they have the right
\nTo butcher them and kill them
\nmostly out of sight<\/p>\n
In China Dogs are sold
\nin the street markets
\nand that is where
\nsome butcher them to eat
\nThey slaughter them,
\nThey process them,
\nand cook them
\nand all of this takes place
\nupon the street<\/p>\n
Some Foreigners
\nget very upset about this
\nforgetting that as carnivores
\ntheir treat
\nIs probably being
\nvery badly butchered too
\nIts just done out of sight
\nand more discreet
\nThe victims don’t believe
\ntheir deaths are any less obnoxious
\nA fact not lost on them those eating meat<\/p>\n
It maybe as more dogs are kept as pets<\/p>\n
that less are sold and eaten, who can say
\nWhether dogs or cats are eaten<\/p>\n
or whether hogs and lambs are eaten,<\/p>\n
its truly what the customer can pay
\nWhatever price if that is what they are used to
\nIn China, Dogs and Cats are eaten, they
\nMay have been eaten here too surreptiously
\nbut not so in your face I have to say<\/p>\n
Possibly with time the Chinese Traders
\nin dog meat will stop doing it abroad, possibly the practice
\nwill go underground
\nand those that want to indulge they will afford
\nThe vegan culture clearly
\nhas made headway
\nBut I do believe that each
\nmust feel the need
\nAs countries take democracy
\ninto their hearts and minds
\nApparently with meat they feel the need<\/p>\n
As time passes
\nmore enlightenment may happen
\nAnd with less food
\nand so many mouths to feed
\nVeganism just may be the saviour
\nBut by that time
