\nstarved and emotionally

and there they were
\nlost souls behind
\nblack painted fences
\nand to find
\none black pit bull
\nwhose sunken eyes
\nand lifeless body
\ndid realise
\nits hapless state
\njust to endure
\nthe purgatory
\nwithout cure<\/p>\n
such suffering
\nsuch evil shows
\nthere are no words
\na sensation grows
\nso forlorn was he
\nso mortified
\na wretch in need
\ndead inside<\/p>\n
to have orchestrated
\nthis suffering
\nto regret
\nwell it just will not do
\nit won’t help those
\nvictims one tiny iota
\nthat pain is ingrained
