{"id":10830,"date":"2013-09-06T07:32:10","date_gmt":"2013-09-06T07:32:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cooksdelight.co.uk\/blog\/?p=10830"},"modified":"2013-09-06T07:39:17","modified_gmt":"2013-09-06T07:39:17","slug":"the-sumatran-tiger","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cooksdelight.co.uk\/blog\/2013\/09\/the-sumatran-tiger\/","title":{"rendered":"The Sumatran Tiger"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Like so many animals living today<br \/>\nman is the greatest of enemies, they<br \/>\ndestroy natural habitat<br \/>\nfor commercial reasons<br \/>\ndestruction is evident<br \/>\neven to seasons<\/p>\n<p>In Sumatra there was a tiger<br \/>\nand there<br \/>\nin the thick virgin forests<br \/>\nthe island did share<br \/>\nthis wonderful unique Tiger of old<br \/>\nwho clung to the forests<br \/>\nwhere secrets unfold<\/p>\n<p>it loved isolation<br \/>\nwhere cover was thick<br \/>\nbut man&#8217;s intervention<br \/>\ndid rapidly lick<br \/>\nthey tore out the high trees<br \/>\nthe life force and all<br \/>\nand planted  oil palm<br \/>\nand rubber their call<\/p>\n<p>commercial interests<br \/>\ncorporate cash<br \/>\nacacia groves logging<br \/>\nand flash<br \/>\nburning of areas<br \/>\nsaw the decline of Tigers<br \/>\nand others<br \/>\nright down the line<\/p>\n<p>despite some protection<br \/>\nwhen cover is lost<br \/>\nprey animals dissipate<br \/>\nfood sources tossed<br \/>\ninevitably this means<br \/>\nimbalance and pain<br \/>\nand the Sumatran Tiger<br \/>\nhad little to gain<\/p>\n<p>oil palm is open its dark<br \/>\nbut its not<br \/>\nlike a vibrant forest<br \/>\nthe world goes to pot<br \/>\nthe wild one&#8217;s can&#8217;t hack it<br \/>\nand so what we see<br \/>\nis diminishing numbers<br \/>\nand soon there might be<\/p>\n<p>less and less and then<br \/>\nextinction it looms<br \/>\nfor poachers are out there<br \/>\nthe low life presumes<br \/>\nanything that can make money<br \/>\nis worth<br \/>\nthe effort and trapping them<br \/>\nhas given birth<\/p>\n<p>to a rise in their body parts<br \/>\nfor the Chinese<br \/>\nThe Traditional medicine<br \/>\nis there to please<br \/>\nthe rising interest in China<br \/>\nalas<br \/>\nis dragging the Tiger<br \/>\ninto the morass<\/p>\n<p>and outlets in Sumatra<br \/>\nare still selling parts<br \/>\nand numbers are dwindling<br \/>\nits breaking our hearts<br \/>\nto see the Sumatran Tiger<br \/>\nbeing killed<br \/>\ndespite the protection<br \/>\npoachers have spilled<\/p>\n<p>their blood in such numbers<br \/>\nman un kind appears<br \/>\nto be there in the midst<br \/>\nincreasing the fears<br \/>\nin some peoples minds<br \/>\nthat man will see the end<br \/>\nof every wild animal<br \/>\nhe called his friend<\/p>\n<p>for habitat loss<br \/>\nthat&#8217;s man stealing the land<br \/>\nchanging its balance<br \/>\nthey dont understand<br \/>\nanything really where money<br \/>\ncan be<br \/>\nmade for the short term<br \/>\nas tree after tree<\/p>\n<p>is chopped down and replaced<br \/>\nby Rubber and Palm<br \/>\nwhich for the long term<br \/>\nsounds the alarm<br \/>\nall living creatures<br \/>\nthe big ones and the small<br \/>\nand man himself<br \/>\nyes really all<br \/>\nwill suffer the great consequences<br \/>\nand may<br \/>\nnever recover just eternally pay<br \/>\nhow selfish we are<br \/>\nour foresight is nil<br \/>\nwe have splendid eyes<br \/>\nits our hearts that are still<br \/>\nwe think of ourselves<br \/>\nour children who cares<br \/>\nthey can look after<br \/>\ntheir own affairs<br \/>\nour need for money<br \/>\nis greater than there&#8217;s<br \/>\nwe are the kings<br \/>\nthey have their prayers <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Like so many animals living today man is the greatest of enemies, they destroy natural habitat for commercial reasons destruction is evident even to seasons In Sumatra there was a tiger and there in the thick virgin forests the island &hellip;
