The artists using paints
\nand pigments
\ncaptures and displays
\nmindful interpretations
\nand such created work
\nportrays
\nquizzically and otherwise
\nand a few descend and fall
\ninto the weird and ugly
\ninto the dark and sinister
\nfrightening us all
\ninto the vile and wicked
\nthoughtless and the crude
\nwith adverse consequences
\nfor the innocent
\nsubdued
\nby death or by
\nparalysis by cruelty
\nand pain
\nhow this can ever be called art
\nI mean its so insane
\nlife so very precious
\nshould not be taken away
\nand sacrificed for art
\nno animal should pay
\nfor the artist
\nto create such work
\nI encourage them to feel
\nto search into their psyche
\nto fathom out how real
\nit is to submit to someone
\nfor the sake of art
\nthe design of that true
\ncreature
\nwhere the miracle did start
\nthis living breathing specimen
\ncannot be bettered by
\nsomeone with a paint brush
\nand a weird sense of the I<\/p>\n
who am I to ever think
\nthat what I do create
\nis up there with the angels
\nsomething that’s so great
\nthat I have rights to
\nslaughter 9000 butterflies
\nor cripple some poor
\ncanine soul
\nwho didn’t realise
\nwhy I had exacted this
\npenalty on him
\nit was just all down to art
\nart just on a whim
\nthe greatest artists ever
\nwere creators and they showed
\nwith their eyes and hearts and hands
\ntheir work used light
\nand they glowed
\nthey strode out into somewhere
\nand they captured all they saw
\nthey may have put their mark on it
\nbut now few will ignore<\/p>\n
their talent and their vision
\nand their balanced point of view
\ntheir technique and their prowess
\nand what it does for you
\nit creates a fresh experience
\nit encapsulates your thoughts
\nit encourages you to think beyond
\nto see the spots and warts<\/p>\n
without them actually being there
\nits in the minds of those
\nwho wish to see them or manifest them
\njust like a piece of prose
\nbut to see real slaughtered butterflies
\narranged in various ways
\nthis is not what I call art
\nits more a vile malaise
\nto actually kill 9000 butterflies
\nwhose precious lives were lost
\nwere cut short for art
\nwho has this right
\nin whose maelstrom were they tossed<\/p>\n
And what of those who displayed them
\nwho reviewed them what of those
\neveryone involved in them
\nI am in the throes
\nof feeling they have equal
\nresponsibility
\nand should decry the reasons why
\nthey allow iniquity
\nto flourish alongside what is
\ngenuine and good
\nfor the sake of the fine art
\nsomething really should
\nhave registered in all those minds
\nthat cruelty and pain
\nand savagery and wickedness
\ncan never be for gain
\ncan never hide under the cloak
\nof art when what we see
\nis sacrifice and evil
