Live exports is an anomaly
\nits a sinful act of cruelty
\nby passing the British Law
\nwith illegal veal crates to the fore
\ntransporting them so tightly packed
\ntheir hearts give out
\nand that’s a fact
\nshipped across the channel
\nthrough the stormy swell
\nthe farmers who exchange
\ntheir contracts do so
\nin a kind of Hell<\/p>\n
the animals mere chattels
\nprofit is their reward
\nthey will all be tortured
\nand will perish on the sword
\nthats only if they are lucky
\nthey are babies and they tend to be
\nsuffering excruciating stress
\nshipped off by sea<\/p>\n
they end up in some abattoir
\ntheir throats cut ear to ear
\ndrowning in their precious blood
\nand bellowing in fear<\/p>\n
and the farmers think they are clever
\nthey think that what they do
\nis sentient let me tell them
\nthat just isn’t true
\noh yes they get their money
\nand go back to their farm
\nbut the animals are stressed as hell
\nand far away from calm
\noy yes they get their money
\nand the docks they get their dues
\nbut the animals get so stressed out
\nfor them its awful news
\nbruised and battered singled out
\nsome no doubt will get a clout
\non the other side we see
\nmore stress and pressure
\non the quay
