There is no need to eat a cat
\nnor wear a dog
\nnot boil some frog
\na spider climbing down my wall
\nits philosophy on it I call
\na fly its caught and slowly binds
\nkind of stills those avid minds
\na vegan has the choice and they
\nare resigned to sharing and they pay
\nattention to those earthlings who
\nshare the space and share their view
\nthere’s no need to eat a bird
\nto cook a rat just seems absurd
\nthere is no use to watch a calf
\nin the slaughterhouse cut in half
\nI welcome those who tenderly
\npull up leaves to share with me
\nblood is not the drink we choose
\nwe do not murder or abuse
\nthis spirit is the one we share
\nour love is vital everywhere
\nhold hands lets walk the path together
\nsharing breath and knowing whether
\nour friends care or pass us by
\nfor we cuss no one, and we never sigh
\nnot out loud for those who would
\nleave us to walk where we know we should
