So many times
\nI have written of Traps
\nof the laying of them
\nyes for they
\nare contraptions created
\nby man the unkind
\nthe heartless
\nthe souls in decay
\nleaving them
\nhere there and everywhere
\nquietly they come
\nand then go
\ncovering tracks
\nprotecting their backs
\nand hoping
\nsome creature will show<\/p>\n
to my mind
\nthey are not specific
\nits any soul that trundles by
\nas long as its living
\nand they have caught it
\nthat’s all they need
\nfor their high
\nthat is their secret agenda
\nto maim and to ruddy well kill
\nto torture if they writhe
\nin agony
\nfor them its a kind of a pill<\/p>\n
they’re butchers
\nwho get high on all of this stuff
\nand really they honestly
\ncan’t get enough
\nand here we see
\na pet cat caught in the mire
\nits agony must have been
\nextraordinarily dire
\ntotally shocked by it
\nlosing its blood
\nhearing the creaking
\nand feeling the thud<\/p>\n
and her people will wonder
\nwhere did she go
\nwhy did she leave them
\nthey want to know
\nwas she knocked over
\nof course they will grieve
\nthe trapper was ruthless
\nyes he did achieve
\nhe got a cat
\nthis time and we
\nlook down on this soul
\nthis dear sweet kitty
\nlost to the world
\nstolen away
\nby a man
\nyou may know
