Poisoned by one’s implants
\na thought that you now know well
\nWhy would the surgeon do that
\nwhen you thought he’d done so well
\nAnd now you’ve cause to worry
\nOf newspaper stories, for they
\nAre worrying the life out of you
\nAnd turning your hair grey
\nMetal to metal hip joints
\nrubbing day and night
\nmetal debris entering your bloodstream
\nout of sight
\ndamaging the tissues
\nwhich just could\u00a0 be a pain
\nElevated chromium and Cobalt
\nyou, a drain
\nfor what could be so dangerous
\na sort of downward slide
\nthe agony of surgery
\nthe feeling deep inside
\nThen the convalescence
\nTo now find it could be
\nA problem for you down the line
\none you could not forsee
\nTitanium and stainless steel
\nand Cobalt chrome are used
\nPolyethylene and ceramic
\nyou feel a bit abused
\nwill you have to have it out
\nor will that cause more pain
\nYou just don’t feel like going
\nthrough all that pain again
\nWe have to really ask ourselves
\nWhy do our hip joints go
\nand when they do
\nWhy is it that the Doctors
\nthink they know
\nWhich metal is good enough
\nTo take the weight and use
\nGod made bone and he alone
\nKnows the best stuff to choose
\nProsthetics placed inside of us
\nIs a fairly new idea
\nand one wonders really
\nHow much research went on
\nit isn’t clear
\ndid it all come down to cost infact
\nwhich material was used
\nor were some of us guinea pigs
\nwho have sadly been abused?
