The phantom butcher
\nthe heartless fool
\nwith two sweet pups
\nOh! he was cruel
\nof course he was
\nhe drove to where
\nthe little owls hoot
\nin open air
\nan empty road
\nwhere weeds grew high
\ntrying to reach
\nthe great blue sky<\/p>\n
he cut off their tails
\na shit of a man
\ntossed them out
\nand bloody well ran
\nnever looked back
\nhe couldn’t hear
\ntheir cries and their yelps
\nnot see their fear
\nof being alone
\non a dusty track
\nknowing no one was coming back
\nthe pain of the tail removal there
\nit was a picture of despair<\/p>\n
they had each other
\nbut that was all
\nboth were puppies
\nboth did drawl
\nnothing to eat
\nand nothing to see
\nbut the cry of the wind
\nand the buzz of the Bee
\nthe shriek of the eagle
\npatrolling the sky
\nand the rain that soaked
\nthem from on high<\/p>\n
the selfish gits that do these
\nthings
\nimagining puppies develop wings
\nand can fly across the mountains high
\nbut instead of course alone they die
\nlost and desolate
\ncold and wet
\nthat shit of a man
\nhad left his debt<\/p>\n
those poor souls lost
\non that dusty clime
\ncold and wet
\nand without a rhyme
\nor reason to go on and on
\nunless an angel came down upon<\/p>\n
Look at their faces
\nImagine their souls
\nsitting alone
\nin the deepest of holes
\nsunk into the earth
\nhalf full with rain
