To go behind the scenes
\nis reaching back into a void
\nCows are so exploited
\nits true on celluloid
\nmost would not be watching
\nthey prefer to look away
\nbut this means it keeps happening
\nand its growing everyday<\/p>\n
as mothers you know the feeling
\nthe joy and it is joy
\nthat feeling of euphoria
\nthat you can employ
\nthinking about the baby
\nyou brought into the world
\nhow the seed was sprung
\nand you among
\nthe catalysts were hurled<\/p>\n
and you nurtured and you cared for
\nnot so the poor young cow
\nthe calf was taken straight away
\nyou might say oh No! how
\nits easy if you drink milk
\nthe calf is obsolete
\nit cannot get nutrition
\nfor there is nothing to eat<\/p>\n
and so depending on its sex
\nwill determine its future course
\nif its a female
\nprobably a veal calf
\nchained and hoarse
\nto all thats happening around her
\nfed on slops and left
\nso her muscles will all atrophy
\nand she will be bereft<\/p>\n
her legs will be like jelly
\nwobbling about
\nthat’s the sadness that we see
\nof that there’s little doubt
\nif he’s male the death sentence
\nis passed maybe for cheese
\ninitially of pet food
\nanyway the seize<\/p>\n
the reason to just send him
\noff to the slaughterhouse where he
\nwill get a swift knife across his throat
\nthat’s how it has to be
\na baby, he’s a baby
\nhe was loved by his mama
\nbut no one will pay to keep him
\nhe is nobody’s star<\/p>\n
his mother is given chemicals
\nto produce, more and more
\nso the dairy makes a killing
\noh yea! they are very sure
\nprofit is the key word
\nlife for babies, no
\nit doesn’t get a look in
\nits all part of the show<\/p>\n
and cow they get de horned
\nthe pain of burning cuts then to
\nthe core and never painkillers
\nthat costs so very few
\nemploy a vet or any drugs
\nexplicit in that regard
\nno matter how much pain
\nthe cow suffers however hard<\/p>\n
the tail is docked
\nwith a rubber band
\nits torture yea first class
\nagain not a hint of painkiller
\nthe dairy is the arse
\nthey know just how to torture
\na mother that’s for sure
\nshe’s raped and will have another
\nin her lifetime possibly 4<\/p>\n
cow s live up to 30 years
\nbut she’ll be lucky if she
\nmakes it passed her 4th
\nyear
\nby then she’s spent
\nshe’ll be
\nlame and for the chop
\nand to the slaughterhouse
\nshe’ll go
\na slashed throat
\nand trachea
\nher time came fast
\nwe know<\/p>\n
and so it goes on
\nday in day out
\nrape kidnap and death
\nthe dairy is a cruel path
\nfor the cows
\nyea catch your breath
\nyou can’t believe the words
\nI write I know its hard but its true
\none way you can improve their lot
