A tusk is what the elephant was given

\nits not something that should be stolen by us
\nthat’s desecration
\nits evil and its selfish
\nand a ghastly thing to do
\nto kill a great soul
\nperhaps the greatest
\nwith thoughts that are askew
\nwe labour at the behest of Chinese crooks who earn
\nmoney, yes and lots of it
\nbut somehow we discern
\nthe reason why
\nthis theory became the money spinner
\nbecause we are just low life
\neach one of us a sinner
\nwe would rather murder a wondrous beast
\nbegrudging it of its tool
\nreally its precisely that
\nand it makes look the fool
\nwith great value for the elephants
\nnot some carved up curio
\nremember the elephants are great souls
\nits something we need to know
\nand anything made of murdered tusks
\nwill bring such bad luck too
