Ella felt so safe in Elmwood
\nher mother was knocked down and killed
\non the Truman Road
\nshe had lived in the confines
\nof this peaceful cemetery
\nnot harming a soul
\nand it showed
\nsilence was clearly
\na quality she saw
\nas really a blessing
\nand so we are sure
\nshe loved being there
\nin such tranquil surroundings
\nthe stillness of morning
\nthe calmness of night
\npeople came into the cemetery
\nto see her
\nand clearly she felt safe
\nand gave off such light
\nthat was, until Sunday
\nwhen someone some mindless
\ncreep came along and shot her to bits
\nsome hard hearted troll
\nclearly minus a soul
\none of the world little shits
\ntook aim pulled his trigger
\nand the deer was no more
\nI try to imagine that deer
\nfor I’m sure
\nshe would have been happy to see
\nthis bold soul
\nwho took out his gun
\nand then lost control
\nno doubt their eyes met
\nthat’s when the deer
\nfelt the whiff of his cowardice
\nand a moment of fear
\nshe’d be joining her mother
\nknocked down on the road
\nwho ever the shooter was he’d have a load
\nto carry
\nwith her death
\nfor she dared to feel
\nshe had every right
\nto be there she was real
\nshe was innocent she had such value
\nand she
\ndied anyway bleeding out rapidly<\/p>\n
whoever did this
\nwho now sits at home
\nwith blood on his hands
\nif he does roam
\nwherever he will be reminded
\ninside
\nof the ending of a life
\nthat had simply relied
\non Elmwood on the cemetery
\nand on the people who came
\nand how he’s snuffed her out
