In human terms I’m a hundred
\nand known now as Princess
\nI’m now in Los Angeles
\nCounty Animals Care control
\nno less
\na proud, German Shepherd
\nconfused though and alone
\nleft to kind of cogitate
\nin a place
\nwhere I’m not known
\nmy life moves into what appears
\nto be a cul de sac
\nthe highway is not my way
\nthere I took some flack
\nnow I am hoping that a family
\nwill give me space so I
\ncan settle down in comfort
\nand just be a reason why
\nthe family want to care for me
\nand pat me now then then
\notherwise the short walk
\nand the end
\nI was wondering when
\nthe big syringe was coming
\nperhaps a gentle smile
\nmy big get out of what is life
