Cheap Farmed Salmon from the housewives
\nperspective is just great
\nIt provides a spectacular protein on the families plate
\nThe Supermarkets sell it, and it compares with meat
\nSo is often bought and brought home for a family treat
\nWhat the British housewife fails to think about
\nIs why the salmon is so cheap she think its
\nabout clout
\nThe great power of the supermarkets buying it really well
\nShe doesn’t stop to ask herself or them, what kind of Hell
\nThe salmon lived in or the feed the salmon took to grow
\nWhy should she think of all of that she doen’t want to know
\nEthics don’t come into the equation in the West
\nAll they want is protein at a cost that is the best
\nIn Peru the people living there in Chimbote
\nonce a paradise for all to sea
\nWith wild life flourishing all around the coastal climes
\nAnd everybody there was so happy
\nThen Industrial farming, hit their economy
\nand the anchovies that swim out in the sea
\nWere shovelled up in tonnes and tonnes for fish meal and the factories thereabouts did avidly
\nProduce this chemical muck and stole the anchovies
\nThat were feeding all the wild folk in the sea
\nAnd now the Dolphins and the Seals are dying
\nand the people too are suffering badly
\nThe chimneys cough out terrible pollution it
\nfalls down on the towns around
\nBronchitis and respiratory shit is everywhere
\nEffluent is pumped into the ground
\nSo much degradation of the environment
\nSo Peru can charge the West a measly sum
\nSo the Supermarkets here can make their margins and the British Housewife she too can have some
\nReason to go out and buy the salmon, again she doesn’t realise how bad
\nSalmon Farming here is for the environment
\nand how much pesticide thats used, \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0 its mad!
\nBut it actually is all to do with profit
\nmassive profit for the Corporate few
\nWho do not care a monkeys for consumers or the people living in Peru
\nAnd\u00a0 consumers are for sure are not getting quality
\nAnd in a way now know one can understand
\nMy advice to housewives or house husbands, is leave that awful stuff Leave well alone
\nIt is costing so much, and it should be out of touch<\/p>\n
Honestly their cover has been blown
\nAnd if it carries on being so popular
\nClearly the consumers will suffer too
\nThe effects of Karma are\u00a0 hitting the farmer
\nand it won’t be long before it falls on you<\/p>\n
The Ecologist magazine has done several investigations on this trade and it really needs the housewives of the Western World to respond to the families in Peru and to the fish having to go through such terrible conditions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
