The Lion and the Canary

There once was a Lion
King of the Beasts
a stalwart fellow, He
Lived alone in his cave
each bone, he possessed
now painfully
Troubled him,He was proud ofcourse
In the Summer he had led
A fearsome pride
Which no one denied
But now where
he lay his head

Was a cold dank place
Where the ice did chase
Where the frost did peer
Where the snow was clear
Where the wind was angry
and punched its weight
and just forced him to
contemplate

His future as
the north wind blew
And his paws were
getting cold and blue
Forlorn and damp
His spirit low
He was now unsure
Where he would go

Till one dark
frosty evening
In an ice shower, he heard
The melodic sound
which heartened him
It was a tiny bird
She sang a song of Winter
She reminded him of Spring
She melted his old craggy heart
For it had a familiar ring

It was Yeganeh,he was sure it was
But she had flown off to
Warmer climes, it couldn’t be
Could it, he peered through
the ice blasts far into the night
His old eyes sore
And again he heard that melodic song
And prayed aloud for more

Are you out there Yeganeh?
He roared with all his might
As icicles fell off the trees
And shone in the moonlight
The wolves howled in the distance
The owls hooted on high
And once again he heard her song
Across the expanse of sky

The old lion was so happy
He had heard his Yeganeh
Singing on her sunny bough
All those miles away
He remembered how
she’d befriended him
A lovely little bird
Who had not been
frightened of him
And had loved his
every word

Winter passed so rapidly
Each day the lion became
Stronger his bones clearly healed
His heart was all aflame
And Spring soon was upon his world
The buds were popping green
The flowers were dancing
in the woods
The rushes mirrored gleam
The Old Lion ventured
from his cave
and felt a warmish breeze
He smelled the bouquet
from the flowers
and the buzzing of the Bees
and there she was his yeganeh
Sitting on a bough
singing to
her hearts content
in a pollen shower
Once again united
2 souls clearly they
Able to appreciate
each other, more each day

Le Roy/environmental degradation and mindlessness

This Fracking lark is gaining some momentum
Obama and his people seem to feel
If energy is actually on their doorstep
Then there’s qudos,, home producing is for real
Hydraulic Fractoring, is apparently
An earner, its suggested for a few
But reality sees investors losing out a lot
For diminishing returns actually screw
Its dirty, its a really filthy business
Environmental degradation looms
Paying homage to an evil deep inside the earth
Through a multitude of strata’s and vile plumes
Deep into the palezoic era, 2000–3000 feet below
Through the marcellus shale
That gets ruptured when a hail
Of chemicals and water move it so
And the gas is then on tap
The fracking over
Except this sick concoction some at least
Comes back up that old drill
Tragically to spill
Stored in open ponds
Tanked off in trucks
16 wheelers in the operation
and all of this is costing us big bucks
Toulene, Xylene,Arsenic, Barium, Chromium
Cadmium,Mercury, Lead and Formaldehyde
The fracking water is such an swesome cocktail
And so much of its wasted
to confide
With you about the waste of
the earth’s pure water
from 1 and 1/2 to 9 million gallons
thats per drill
Which is going to make the water table
diminish
And the pollution and the corruption’s out there still
Take Texas for example with so little rain
the people will be needing bottled water soon which to my mind makes the whole thing just insane
In Ohio there’s 1000 wells now working
I’m glad I don’t live there, I have to say
Pollution and Contamination is completely mindless
Politicians make the people pay
And now Le Roy school
Upstate New York, yes its there
Fracking wells below the school
hang fire
Trees around the site a dying , plants around the site are dying
15 children suffering the world
around is crying
Tics and sick aggression and the Doctors
have their own ideas
Its nothing to do with fracking
They fail to feel the power of tears
They fail to see the wanton thrust
The money grabbing powerful lust
The families there now being told
Its a mystery, to behold
Fracking is the reality
Obama and his people see
the obvious, the emperor was naked all the while
Its sinful now what we are doing
For deep within the earth its brewing
A disaster we may never reconcile

Human Wrongs

They want to carry on their grisly work
And need more pay
Killing sentient monkeys
And dogs and cats each day
Some people appear hypocrites
Their own pets treated well
Whilst leaving other creatures
To a life of utter hell

Turn a blind eye
To the suffering, oh! Yes, that is best
Leave the fight to others
Many of them blessed
With courage of a high degree
But activists too soon
Shipped off to some police cell
To stare up at the moon

We all must realise
This is vile cruelty
Animals just don’t deserve to be
Tortured!
But it’s testing!
No It’s Torture!
And places where it’s happening
Should agree
There’s other far more decent ways
Of testing

If that’s what it is called
For otherwise
As human being’s we will not find answers
Apart from all the wrong one’s I surmise
The Banks are getting jumpy
Clearly worried
Backing such concerns causes them pain
Activists are standing in their doorways
And their customers are hearing it again

No one has the right to torture anything
Equally we must not take it , we
Can break the law
Or threaten sick employees
Weak, they’re now as powerless as can be
Their karma un-imaginable
No wonder, some whose patience
Lacks the finesse for

Waiting, as the animals are slaughtered
Inside these awful places more and more
As human beings, sentient and powerful
We ought to reason why so many seem
Struck down by so many new diseases
And that food on general sale cannot redeem
The parlous state of pesticides and fracturing
Bottom lines have become the driving force
We must insert some ethical adjustments
And only then can mankind get back on course

If we as human’s really have sound judgment
We have to understand that other’s may
Other species have an equal right to
Go about their order of each day
We’re told by those we stuck in high positions
The “white coats,” that these animals don’t know
When their going to die
So we simply can’t apply
The same criteria, Wow! a body blow

For Human Beings, sadly on the journey
Down the road of life some understand
Imbalancing and fracturing makes money
But damages our body and our land
And Corporations really are the culprits
Who see fit to exploit at every turn
The poor may suffer long and hard in heaven
But these rich gits down in hell are gonna burn!

If to care for sentient beings brands us Activists
Then all I can say is caring thinking souls
Will rally and will fight this glaring sickness
For clearly each must pick whatever roles
We feel are right, but not sink to their level
Peaceful, all within the current law
Quietly like the dripping tap we’ll do it
Close, not break in and out of their door!

Intelligence

The Great Apes are much cleverer than we took them for
They didn’t get where they are, all these years
By not using the tools we take for granted
And helping to allay each others fears
Wading in a river does need caution
A stick provides a measurement and so
Gorillas are not stupid thats for certain
How deep the water is they need to know
Others seemingly use sticks to aid their gait
Walking sticks, Gorillas need them too
Sticks that help support,yes their capable of thought
And I wonder if they wonder what we do?

More monkey business (China to Toronto/Montreal)

How little those
with eyes can see
With hearts can feel
With mouths can speak
Primates taken
from their families
Shipped by airlines
that are weak

Who care for nothing
No respect at all
For living souls
Trapped in the green forests
and caged in rotten traps
Authorised by saps
Whose only thought is money
Slaves to the corporate few

Prepared to give away their soul
For a pot of mountain dew
From China through to Toronto
Hainan Airlines flies
With its cargo of sweet innocence
Be sure each one soon dies
mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers
Babies left to die
Huddled on some tree somewhere
Looking at the sky

From Toronto to Montreal
To some dark laboratory where
White coated morons
take them and feed them
pure despair
But do the primates despise
them,

will they bite them?
not at all
They will allow these low life
technicians to take
them to the wall

To cage them in a dirty state
and feed them badly, and
forget to give them water
Who can understand
The mentality of Medicine
For its in that name they be
Experimented on and tortured
very painfully

China, Mauritius
and many other countries
are prepared
For what amounts to a measly sum
To rape their forests, scared
children of the forest, run this
way and run that
And are trapped by ugly human earthlings
who don’t know where they’re at

Who work in these dire places
Who give up their human right
And allow themselves to be brainwashed
By the corporates of the night
The medics who talk science
their butchers who trade in fear
Thats the currency of those
Whose voices, I can hear

Working in the basements
With their white rat faces, they
Do what they are told
Oh! they are bold
Killing machines some say
But pay back time is coming
The Universe now knows
The evil perpetrated
Bu these faceless nasty joes

AIDS and similar diseases
Will afflict us all and, we
Will perish in our man made cages
Pissing blood for free
Experiments with primates will cause disease
in man
You just don’t trap and torture
Just because you can

Creation didn’t give you this
for you to kill and maim
To waste such a great miracle
Their souls to just inflame
How vile are men
who feel the need to punish
and destroy
Creatures that have never harmed
them
Creatures that bring joy

And so respect each other
And given half the chance
Would turn away from harming them
They would take that stance
And History has shown us, with the
Polio Vaccines
Mincing up their kidneys,their
testicles and their spleens

Using them as substrate
Proved the sickness, we
For hundreds died
And the medics lied
And it didn’t have to be
But we didn’t learn now did, we
Young girls were killed outright
We were saving money
Come join in the fight

So we carry on regardless
Repeating the same mistakes
And God we have made many
Many many takes
Many many innocent
have been tortured
and have died
and many many humans too
are lying by their side

But the corporate
Science people
Keep the carousel
spinning
We are winning
Winning!
like as Hell

Women in Boardrooms are Poetry in Motion

Women in boardrooms,
I do agree
Too many YES men
These days we see
A few tough old cockerells
strutting their stuff
With waistcoats and cigars
and far too much puff

Boardrooms need women
We all know how much
They have added value
And therefore as such
Would be more representative
Of life today
The male domination
And arrogant way
Of not understanding
People as a whole
Each facet of life
Needs more subtle control

Hostilities everywhere

A willow tree

Resplendent when winds blow

mindful and free

looking the part

Maternal and sane

able to be

Themselves in the rain

Tobacco you can keep it

A kid I knew had yellow fingers
caused through nicotine
No matter how he scrubbed them
He couldn’t get them clean

I said to him
Imagine your lungs and throat
now they
Must be stained with nicotine
more and more each day

Is it any wonder
breathlessness appears
and many other horrors
conjuring up such fears

Once a healthy individual
born with lungs so clean
And now they look like mushrooms
fried in margarine

Death oh Yes its coming
Tobacco is a pain
Go Smoke free Please, yes smoke free
Learn to live again

Wild organic salmon no such thing!

In the rivers
Can you hear them?
Their voices really are
Unmistakable
They are indeed
the star
Performers, as they leap
Up stream
Their sinews aching so
A natural sat nav in their brains
For they know where to go
Up sheer rocky inclines
Breathtaking faith leaps high
They wont stop until they reach
Their river in the sky
Boldness just epitomizes
How this fish can play
And ending up in plastic
On a supermarket tray
To my mind is a complete waste
Of life and surely we
Will weaken the whole species
Its just a tragedy

For all its past experiences
Lost in the mists of Time
This fighting soul
loses control
and coconut and lime
Festoon its pallid body
Profit comes to those
Who slaughtered it and butchered
it, underneath our nose
No reproduction possible
The natural way no more
Farming the Wild Salmon
Is a step too far for sure

And calling it organic
What arrogance is that
A compromise thats all it is
And the head goes to some cat
The Salmon that true warrior
Locked in our dungeons they
Will live just like caged
creatures
For alas that is our way
Nervous full of latent fear
Fed with what has been
Prescribed or certified this year
For we now set the scene
The new gods live in Bristol
and Brussels, and dictate
The new rules of succession
That I feel I must berate
In the rivers you can hear them
Their voices are so loud
Farm them at your peril
And feed them to the crowd

For years I’ve felt put upon
By Christians
Who like to pray a lot
A tendency
To start off public meetings
By saying prayers
Which honestly is alien to me
I do not close my eyes
And neither do a lot of them
For I am on the look out
every time
For what we are about to receive
say it to yourselves
Don’t draw me into your beliefs
My chyme
Is not made any less acidic
by your mumblings
and often I resent them
for I see
You tucking into
suckling pig
or a lamb plucked out of some
green field,
or a veal steak
Its mother pining
tragically

You never saw the
knife that cut short
a poor infants time on earth
a tiny baby, made by God alone
and you sit there
praying to him
thanking him
for what you’ve done
snubbed him and destroyed
the love he’d shown
and the prayers you blurt out
Won’t absolve their agony
Your mantra might be
customary for you
But to me to have to sit
and watch you fill your
bodies noisily
With their blood and guts
Is to me pure heresy

Genetic modification and the terminator

Creation in all its wisdom
May delay the spurt of life
But to terminate for financial gain
feeds a panoply of strife
It dichotomizes logic
And transcends the Natural World
For its rather weird technology
the life force has been hurled
Into a kind of limbo
Financially imposed
Prejudiced by profit
That life, that was supposed
To spring forth through Eternity
Locked in disregard
Terminated to a cryogenic state
and scarred

The indigenous Coalition
of Andean Farmers, Light
Shines down from those storm filled
clouds
That turned their days to night
This so called new unprincipled
Technology is sad
And it should be banned forever
Because its plainly bad

Born and festered in some recent
human brain, that clearly must
Have not appreciated, Creation and disgust
Dormant States are commonplace but Termination left
To such manipulation shows a soul bereft
Of reasoning to thus suppose
We have the where for all
To run the world within our world
And be deaf to any call

Full marks to the group of Andean Farmers
they have stood up bravely for the cause
The lumbering Giant stops and recognizes
With their action it just has to pause
Sanity is staring at the profiteers
They are bloodied but will come back
thats my view
Clasp your hands together and stand up to them
Don’t let them ever get too close to you
