Horses a commentary

The illusion and the sophistry
Of watching horses run
Racing them making them jump
Fences in the sun
The dupery and swindling
Its cruelty beyond
Peoples imagination
Taking advantage of the bond
Animals have with human beings
Owners so to say
Who force them into racing
And with it the dismay

Its all to do with money
Taking risks you see
Its all about intention
To gamble purposefully
The horse is made to exercise
Training in the cold
Always running when they are aching
Even when they are old

Whipped when no ones looking
Kicked thats done as well
Grief and woe and off you go
Riding into hell
There is so much discomfort
Calamitous it be
An all this on a bag of moldy oats
They get for free

And having to carry the jockey
Farting all the time
They stink those bloody humans
It really is a crime
Chasing after others
And hunting in the rain
All that mud and moaning
And they are all insane

Chasing after foxes
And most of them are drunk
Not the foxes the bloody riders
Not one is a hunk
Too many chips and t bone steaks
And we are expected to
Carry them across the fields
And through farms, yea its true

As for jockeys they are smaller
But they are paid to win
Whips and kicks and swearing
And none of them are thin
They stand up in the stirrups
And bruise us yes they do
Racing us is cruelty
Its shameful which is true

Even your queen is at it
For us adversity
No matter what the weather
We still, have to be
Running and all that glyphosate
On the food these days
It does things to our ligaments
Weakens them in many ways

If we fall we have had it
Its bang your dead, goodbye
We are being murdered
That really is no lie
Its all about insurance
We get shipped off to France
Or end up in your steak and kidney
People take the chance

Racing is a mugs game
The biggest mug the horse
Suffering a brutal regimen
Yes us they force
Every inch out of us
We don’t want to race
Just A nice clean field of verdancy
Care of the human race
