Markhor

Dont give them excuses
For rotten abuses
This American Hunter
In Chitral believes
A bow and an arrow
Though his reason be narrow
The rarest of thinking
Achieves
In him so much wonder
To take himself under
The spirited plain
Of a life giving soul
Who wanders the mountain paths
With 40 inch horns
Breathes the dry air
And head down he warns
Tribesman approaching
To just stay away
And this yank
With a bow of course
Still Makes him pay

The ultimate price
Death yes of course
To pay for the locals
Really who force
Evil to come
To murder and kill
Their god given animals
For a cheap thrill

Pakistan says
Its a good thing to do
Loving the way
For better things, who
In their right mind
Thinks murder is good for the soul
And good for the locals
Not me to extol
Such evil such ugliness
Such sacrifice
Of beautiful animals
Such a high price
Somebody elses life
Easy to say
When the life they give
Isn’t their own
