Exotic leather

Living skin is invaluable
Dead skin becomes the hide
Or leather and then whether
The wearer had denied
The life force or the death knell
Either way we see
A living breathing miracle
And lifeless infamy.
Uppitiness and snobbery
Its everywhere you go
Overweening arrogance
The elevated show
Their ignorance of cruelty
Of pitiable refrain
Hubristic and toffee-nosed
Ignorant of others pain

No humbleness about them
Unpretentious, without airs
Who forgo the self importance
Their Delusional affairs
Dressed to kill and kill they do
Sumptuous their display
Into exotic leathers
Inverted so to say
The crocodiles come in for
great uncertainty
That they will be sort after
Wild or farmed
More and so we see
Fresh water and salt water
And The caiman too can be
Abused and used in fashion
Bags, shoes and upholstery
Hermes,Moet Hennessy
Louis Vuitton
Gucci
Names that just roll off the tongue
Such kingly dignity
Skin is live and godly
Leather is dead and gone
Cured of all its naturalness
Infact a revolting con
An industry is out there
The farming hatching crowd
The stunning and the slaughtering
The chilling skinning proud
Pandering to selfishness
To nobleness and rank
To ancestry and dynasty
And how much is in your bank

But whether you have a heart
And soul, and love and care for those
Victims who are rarer
Than hens teeth that some have chose
To murder in the prime of life
When skin is vibrant and
When after tanning curing fleshing
Somebody will land
A rather hefty profit
Dealers let us say
Who murder godly life forms
And watch Reptilians pay
With hours of pain and agony
The stress, the torture trade
Describing it as exotic
The fools join the parade
With margins reaching high points
That draw the snobbery
Attracting those with lots of dosh
Its daylight robbery
The departmental barons
Are earning hand over fist
Flogging their dead horses
That the snobs cannot resist

They have lost all their irreverence
Impressed they never are
Tell them that its exotic
That it came from afar
Away in some wild river
The insensitive well heeled
Are as ignorant as the day is long
That much is soon revealed
So much is farmed and molly coddled
Reputablity
Its all about the patterning
And the ascendancy
These great souls
Have emerged from the dark ages
And they still
Having learned and turned
And yearned remarkably they spill

Out into the swamps and through
Backwaters and we know
How amazingly powerful
And in great jungles grow
Massively important
In their field and stride
A pair of matching shoes and
A bag
Can engender in one pride
Yes Swollen with such puffery
And big talk all the way
A failure to recall the beautiful
Creature
That did pay
A high price for the low life
To purchase and to choose
The skin of someones mother
Or some child who could refuse
The haughtiness and bluster
Too much of it about
Wearing someone elses skin
The blatancy and rout
The audacity and shamefulness
And what is flippancy
The great affront to godliness
And respect for honesty
