An elephants eye

An imperfect cadence
Surrounds
Our whole being
The chattering heard
In the rumbles of time
We wander the countryside
Taking in everything
Lifting our souls
And feeling each crime
Committed around us
Where humans are present
The turmoil the bedlam
What we see what we hear
Our memory harkens back
To our childhood
So many long gone
In crescendo’s of fear

What I see is alarming
In the light of each day
More and more people
Coming this way
As big as we are
And as mindful in fAct
Our future feels grim
As to how to react

A pachyderms spirit
Is held in reserve
Our outlook on life
Has begun to unnerve
Every waking moment
Wherever we be
We seem closer to humans
And logically

That is unsettling
From what we know
We are resented
Wherever we go
Too many look
At our tusks
And we feel
A much greater threat
And we know that it’s real

There is ghoulish intent
And now on my own
With what I have seen
And the things that are known
Too many foreigners
Carrying guns
In their camouflage clothes
Their inanity stuns

Look into my eyes
As I look out at yours
Somewhat deliberative
For the great cause
Of ancestral prominence
A lasting belief
Musing daydreaming
Absorbed in my grief.
