Need to be more mindful

Not equipped with the brains
She was born with
And what seems to be that she
Was forgetful and really thoughtless
To the heat there that could be
She left her pet dog in her car
Whilst she went shopping she
Left the engine running
With the air con hopefully
She knew though it was faulty
Was that her oversight
Was she absent- minded
Inconsiderate car from right

Shopping out in Walmart
For over an hour again
She didn’t come back to check
Or imagine the pain
A dog left in the sweltering heat
Just panting away
Fearful frightened and dying
On that dreadful day

And what did she do about it
The dog died tragically
The police the courts
What are our thoughts
Prison obviously
Six years she should serve that length of time
And never again
Be allowed to keep an ANIMAl
For me she was insane

Uncaring and unsharing
Her thoughts were all her own
She knew that it was hot outside
But chose to appear just thrown
Distracted from the poor dog
For me a disregard
She lost the thread completely
Though that was not so hard

For her but still she did that
And the poor dog expired
She created an oven
And in that place she fired
Up the dog completely
The frustration and the fear
Imagine that and it’s prison
And the remedy is clear
