Blue gum logging and the koalas

Life is about animals
Not blue gum never logging
Taking out the forest
Tearing down the trees
Ripping through the oxygen
Violently descending
A new crucifixion
As the spirited are bending

The Koala gifted miracle
Living in no other land
An emotional intelligence
That loggers fail to understand
Making money for its sake
Wanting the cake and the cream too
At the expense of miracles
That transfer into some caged zoo

Australia must realise
Must understand must discriminate
Not against the Koala but the blue gum loggers
Who would decimate
The forests
Who would do this with koalas in situ
Where babies cry under the sky
For that is what they do

Put them all in cages
The loggers that’s my cry as for the gifts of nature
But those who only lie
Whose eyes can’t see the miracles
Whose hearts are wood and knots
Whose banks accounts are laced with ale
They are a bunch of snots

Koalas need protection
All of wild life does
Iconic souls have special roles
They bring that valid buzz
That draws the eyes of many
It’s money in the bank
The great big bank of permanence
The one branch that I rank
