“Vishwas”

She was tentatively rocking
By the side of a busy street
having escaped from a merchant
Racked up with deceit
Who beat her and who worked her
And tied her legs together
So she just couldn’t get away
She was now light as a feather

Beaten up and miserable
Clearly in some pain
We carried her home and loved her
Our affection it did gain
Inroads in her feelings
She clearly let us see
She trusted us so we could then
Love her holistically

The maggots had worked overtime
On her wounded legs
We cut away the necrotic skin
And bandaging just begs
The question what true caring does
For spirit lifts and we
Could feel and watch healing take Place
Almost instantly

“Vishwas” she responded well
Despite her damaged state
She just loved the cuddles she got
At such a rate
She loved her fresh green herbage
We collected every day
And she healed up faster than any soul before
We have to say

Love is a spectacular tool
We see it everyday
They come in worse than ever.and the miracle each day
Is evident and often
They sparkle and they be
Provident and ready
To join our family
