Wired

What is absolute cruelty
Contempt for one so small
The reverence of wiring
Ones jaws that is just all
Paltriness and meanness
What else can one say
To do this to a lady dog
And to make the poor soul pay

Imagine just imagine that
Nothing could be worse
Drinking eating breathing
It is an eternal curse
Exhausting her through agony
Breaking her spirit she
Was suffering the awful stress
Of contemptibility

We took her to the hospital
And removed the wire
Healed the laceration
It must have felt like fire
Burning in her gullet
Who ever did this they
Just perish in the fire and a
Wrath
That is what I say

We told her we would love her
And nobody would care
To hurt her no not ever
Making her aware
She just laid in a basket
Morose and feeling sad
We loved her and we fed her
But still she just felt bad

Her spirit clearly broken
The cruelty she felt
It took eight months of loving
And caring till we dealt
Better cards and helped her see
Our loving healing care
Was enlivening her spirit
And making her more aware

And then she met a puppy
With joyous spirit who
Loved her clearly loved her
And they both loved to do
Similar things together
Playing everyday
Chasing bits of paper
And what can we say

The two of them together
Were friends they really were
Each had been a victim
And whatever did occur
They seemed to bond
Together
And run Round at pace
Tails wagging
Never flagging
Enjoying the same space.
