“ Judith”

That was how she was
Chained out in a yard
Urinated on out of the window
She was scarred
By them who was supposedly her family
Who watched her deteriorate
Chucked her food all muddied
Left her in a state

Out there in all weathers
Her back legs wretchedly
Crippled with arthritis
Such indignation we
Observed she languished terribly
Laying in the frost
Until one day we rescued her
And in our home we tossed

Her washed her shaved her loved her
Fed her everyday
Gave her every comfort
Made her feel and play
Like a wondrous gifted soul
Who we never would neglect
She became an angel
And every hour we checked

Judith was that angel
She didn’t leave our side
And for 18 months she lived with us
And till alas she died
Went off to the rainbow bridge
Beside the river clear
Where she was with the angels
And they then held her dear
