Little Leo

Little Leo alone in a gutter
He lay
In Rajasthan all of the day
His head in the water
To weak to move
Clearly very sick
And not in the groove

Animal aid unlimited came
Put him in a blanket
His inner flame
Extinguished alas
So weakly was he
He slept for three days
Clearly, rest was a key

Factor for him
No wounds none at all
His head though was numbed
Perhaps in a fall
Gave him IV fluids
And medicines to
Help to stabilise
It was their view

He then had a seizure
And began to fall
circling all the time
Just like a wall
Restricted his movement
Again what they do
Cuddle and lay him
And of course it rings true

People here care
They love him to bits
They cage him a while
And watch his fits
Feed him water him
Pat him and say
You will walk again
at the end of the day

And he did and he walks
And, now he plays
Back to his old self
He wants to amaze
The carers the angels
All of his kin.
He has recovered well
But still is too thin

Already improving
And putting on weight
Resting and sleeping
And just feeling great
He suffered such trauma
And pulled through it all
Tail wagging happy
And comes when they call

Little Leo
