Samhain

The trees are lost in shadow
Moon in Libra tends to be
Ready to create order
Through diplomacy
Relationships and partnerships
Favoured it be said
With beauty and creativity
All coming to a head

The East Is where we congregate
The South an open sky
Down to the lights of Chipping Norton
In the West a sigh
In the North some ragged stones
And a cold wind greets our gaze
The moles their excavations
For me an awkward phase

Uneveness can trip us
But seated in the dark
The fire it builds and crackles
Its aura lights the park
Robed we form our circle
Friends warm hands entwine
Jack Frost is clearly out there
in the wings
And gives his sign

we are here as are ancestors
All around us they
Creep out of the darkness
Though just now were far away
But now appear much closer
As the veil thins and we know
Our mums and dads and grand parents
Are back again in tow

Existence on our own for all these years
A burden we
Took on, it was foisted on us
We sought it graciously
Bore the loss and settled
And here before us we
See the stones of that corps
Of soldiers who would be

Turned to stone
Their lichened bodies
Weather worn and still
Tolerated mercifully
By all who feel the will
To come and join our circle
As druids we do share
Our consciousness
And enlightenment for samhain
So aware

even today as we believe
And, infact we feel
Together on this days of days
Novembers chill is real
So crisp and dark and even
Our thermals hopefully
Will keep the toosies comfortable
In warmth and luxury

Lots of familiar faces
About to join the clan
To share warm breaths together
And resolutely Plan
The ritual which is Summers End
Winter yes hello
The darker half of the year
Is here
For the lighter side did go

The witches new year
Cometh
It is a liminal time
The boundary between the other worlds
So worthy of a rhyme
The protection of the
Fire that roars
the horned god maybe he
Will lead his hunt into the skies
For dreaming now we be

The child within us
Comes to the fore
Lanterns pumpkins candlelight
The Elder is the celtic tree
the witches feminine
Energy bright,
