The unswerving aboriginie

Heartlessness ruthlessness
Who would bless
The relentlessness
Centuries of wisdom cometh
Down the ages to where we
See such unfeeling
And how its stealing
All heartfelt thought
From you and me

They erect signboards
“No alcohol”
“No pornography”
Sadistically
they reprimand
Our inner spirit
And do it really
Blatantly

Is it any wonder
We would wish
To climb our ladder
And take it down
The callous stony-hearted gestures
The unrelenting swathes
That drown

Our dreamtime and its recognition
The appreciatitiveness
Of the desire
To harp back to ancestral ramblings
And resist the modern fire
The scoundrels at the root
Of government
Whose incendiary they may throw
Into our deep hearted feeling
Whose the savage do you know?

Such thanklessness
Prescribed to people
No amnesty apparently
Vindictiveness yes by the bus load
Covetous it feels to me
Unwarranted towards a people
Whose retribution should now be
Even handed and impartial
The unswerving aboriginie
