Elephant rides

Empty headed moronic keepers
And management who feel
The need to put sales figures first
Not elephants who conceal
Who suffer really daily
As tourists come along
To buy a ride if its denied
This practice is so wrong

Elephants hate walking on
Hard surfaces for they
Are heavy it is burdensome
Their poor old feet give way
Indonesian zoos are famous for this they
Use bullhooks on the elephants
To try to get their way

To disregard their suffering
Tourists apparently
Are unconcerned and thoughtless
To how it ought to be
Clearly they have a blind spot
Preoccupied lets say
And the elephants really suffer
Under the sun each day

They are being uncared for
Disregarded overlooked
Given the cold shoulder
Till their poor old feet are cooked
The zoos illogicality
Its deception all the way
Its how they draw the visiters
And,nget them to pay

Its contrary to reason
Its incongruous and we
Must tell just everyone we know
These rides are terribly
Based on making money
At the elephants expense
And Yani’s death at Bandung Zoo
Proved it made no sense

Many zoos are doing it
Apparently its how
They really make their money
Sloppy thinking now
They actually get away with it
Its misguided and just wrong
Tourists should be told before they
Go
Despite how strong
Elephants are these tourists rides
Are torture and they do
Badly affect the elephants
And kill some of them too
