Brigid

Imagine yourselves as one of the Brigantes
One of the true Celtic Clan
Brittania derived from those tribal warriors
Clearly the fiercest of man
Brigid who was the great mother
A true triple goddess was she
Close to the healers and poets and smiths
A seer and a real visionary

When her family expected her marriage
She plucked out an eye for to be
Very much uglier and unattractive
So anybody that did see
Would just be put off and in the course of time
She got No proposal At all
She put her eye back and was once again whole
And her beauty was seen to enthral

Brigid the meaning exalted, the high one
The fire in the head
She was known as the true triple goddess
She followed the Druids and Led
Those souls forward into creating
Inspiring, her power it prevailed
The hearth was the place in the home she believed
where the magickal wisdom was trailed

She ruled over fire and over water
And apparently came from Kildare
Her father was Daghda her mother Boann
Cow goddess of the moon seemingly
her plan
To frequent healing springs
it was where, she liked to be
With healers and shaman and smiths working free
Her predominance clearly it was all the time
In everyones face just sharing the climb
