Indifference

The joyfulness of some
To match the nonchalance of many
The one who plays piano
On the station as some do
Watch the passers by some
Don’t even notice
Others stand recording it
But most seem clueless too

The talent that’s on offer
Their appreciations gone
Perhaps they never had it
The light has never shone
In their hearts never ever
Dull souls lost for sure
Creative thought and energy
For them it’s all a bore

The gift and joy of genius
You see it everywhere
But the lovelessness and the insouciance
With great dollops of despair
Like clouds they hover over us
Uninterested they
I suppose are unambitious
And uninvolved today

The apathy of some
Who have no wonder left to feel
They are just servants of the state
This listlessness they reveal
By walking passed at great speed
Not going anywhere
Just not prepared to savour
The gift of love some share
