Petting Cubs

Petting Cubs is one thing
Petting full grown souls
Drugging them to make money
Doesn’t score any goals
With me
Or to truly compromise
The carers of the wild
Just to coax some misguided parents
With a little child

This level of ignorance
And for it in fact to be
On a page for wild guardians
Who sadly failed to see
The disrespect and ugliness
And profiteering here
And admonish any Angel
Who was making all this clear

Is to me really a great shame
For tigers everywhere
Need our help and caring not
Ongoing despair
And as for friends who notice
Let’s treat them as we should
Let’s thank them for their efforts
For I think that would be good

And think what is the message
This child picks up from this
Wild animals they can be tamed
And disgruntlement not bliss
Is how the child will one day
Know how it was done
And, may then be mortified
And not so full of fun

Feeling really let down
That she did participate
In what was a tasteless exercise
Something few would rate
It’s undignified and tasteless
And bad form if you ask me
I found your page a joy to read
And the affection good to see
