Serenity a resolution
Thus describing one
Remarkable bird whose energy
And devotedness may stun
The observer for in earnest
This wondrous Snow White soul
Who feeds chiefly on submerged plants
So seemingly in control
protected by the Act of Swans
From 1482
Belonging to the Queen of England
So it seems they do
Extraordinarily in history
The Queen did eat them she
Invited Samuel Pepys the diary writer
Home for tea
And he was thought
to enjoy the taste
Though few around agreed
In those days finding a big enough dish
Was a problem yes indeed
Now each year the ceremony
Of counting swans appears
Swan upping it’s called actually
And just Many many tiers of counters
On the Royal Thames who drink the day away
The problem for the swans
It seems is pollution so they say
Lead we know is a killer
And chemicals that abound
But there remains a fascination
From a lot of folk around
Thanks for your lovely photographs Claudia at

Great Lions protect
And are the means
The gods deduced clearly their roar
Would overcome evil for sure
