Sibuya laments its losses

Is there a chain of reasoning
For kindred spirits to
Tune into their suffering
Its lamentable and true
Apposite and pertinent
A connection let us say
An alliance and a linkage
Into why they have to pay

Pachyderms the essence really
Of vitality
An outwardness of strength and power
No mere accessory
Keratin and calcium make up
Their precious horn
But to the truly uninformed
Their make up it does spawn

Total misrepresentation
Of a healing potency
Lies to create a market
To intrude with infamy
Just dissonance and discord
And eccentric oddity
Unbecoming of TCM
So contradictory

Ramping up a market
With a vengeance of desire
Based around incredulity
The supremacy of fire
The agony of the innocent
Who fuel the blazing pyre

Sibuya Game Reserve saw
Mayhem once again
Two females slaughtered
Mercilessly
In the midst of abject pain
Both with calves now orphans
And a Bull left just alive
All darted and then butchered
The Bull may not survive

He is really in a state
Only his fortitude
Has kept him going
But he is ailing
His injuries now viewed
Are terrible his poor face
Completely torn away
And one of his legs is badly damaged
And his eyes too
So they say

The largest fresh water lake
In South Africa
And we
See this holocaust for Rhino’s
Happening regularly
Its all about black market
Its a black market so to say
On Africa and the Chinese
Who do nothing and they pay

They have no comprehension
No nothing at all
Its money and its profit
And more and more will fall
Foul of this atrocity
Fuelled by the money trail
The non attachment of the truth
Behold that horse is pale

Holistic comprehension
And its ramifications here
Seem littered with the negligence
Causing mutilation and fear
Waves of it now smashing down
On the innocent and they
Are dying in such agony
All along the way

Clearly there is disharmony
A confusion and its worse
For it is based of actual lies
It really is a curse
A dislocated symphony
A measurable discourse
A lawless violent repulse
Driven with such force

A Paradise is Africa
Kwazulu natal game
A great drowned river valley
Where nothing stays the same
Somehow they come and manage
To bypass the control
To murder and to injure
And really take the role

Of warriors all heavily armed
Their focus is to kill
They are remarkably successful
And possibly they will
Lay waste to every rhino
For corruption seemingly
Has its place in the human mind
And perhaps as a permanency

The mortality is growing
Its significance is too
The suddenness of slaughter
Is cursory yet true
These intrusions into nature
Are ill-omened and they do
Cause fear and such confusion
The regularity
Prescriptive indignation
For the followers of the free

The cause is greed above all else
A factor that underlies
Every facet of our lives
And whether a poacher dies
Is clearly not a problem
The profits to be made
Far outweigh risks taken
When the death penalty is played

Out for those caught doing this
That might make them think
And China has to be brought to account
For we now are in the brink
Of a tsunami of relentless force
That is breaking over all
The end is near for Africa
We must now answer her call

Increase the power and governance
To influence those who
Are taken over by the money offered
And who do
The dirty work for the traders
The emperors of crime
Who wear their masks of decency
Whilst living in the slime

Destruction is now imminent
To abrogate this worth
To allow this desolation
Happening on earth
The ravages are baneful
The agency of death
Victims and their offspring
Are giving up the breath

Losing what ever stimuli
They were born to see
The god who made them
Wouldn’t have thought
That their horns would ever be
Stolen for some medicinal, purpose
Far away
And made into the placebo
And a ransom too they say

What us the expectation
Are we banking on a fact
That there will be some honesty
And then we can react
Or are we now imagining the end
Is really around the corner
We shall lose our friend

Distress is far from thrilling
We have to see this through
We have the understanding
And we can now do
A lot more for the pachyderms
Who really need to be
Protected given armed guards
And complete security

Build a fort around them
Protect them night and day
Kill corruption at a stroke
Death penalties may play
A part it stopping all of this
Rangers shoot to kill
Show nobody any mercy
If we can instil

This is all those local people
And anyone from far
That they will be caught
And will die
For its Africa they scar
And if governmental people
Are aiding and abetting
They get the same treatment
So when the sun is setting

On Africa and the pachyderms
There are armies on their side
Ready now to shoot to kill
This would turn the tide
Hopefully in our favour
So that no more souls will die
No more orphaned calves around
Or Their horns sold on a lie
