Left to their own Resources

It suddenly happened
The shit hit the fan
Such a big earthquake
When most of us ran
Up to the high hill
The tsunami too
Washed into our town
Like tsunami’s do

Then an explosion
Great balls of fire
Then evacuation
The scene it was dire
The people so many ran
For their life
The street was on fire
Everywhere utter strife

Water was flowing
Flashes of light
Explosions all over the town
Day was night
Evacuations people just went
Houses collapsing everyone bent

On getting away by the bus load
And more
We had gone to the hill
My legs were sore
So much disruption
People I knew
Lying dead in their gardens
What could we do

Its now been 5 years
Since they all went away
A few do come back
But no one does stay
Dogs cats mice rate
Cockroaches too
The odd goat and cow
Some foxes, a few

Birds fly in sometimes
How we get by
We pillage and scrape
And so many die
And we eat each other
That what we must do
If we are going
To ever get through

Sometimes he brings food
A bit every week
He moved with everyone
We just do seek
The food in the stores
And in houses roundabout
In cupboards and pantries
We just clear them out

We live on whatever
Stale bread and rice
Anything going
Who cares if its nice
Or not we just eat it
But now 5 years on
Most of the food
Is actually gone

We eat up the insects
The maggots the mice
We eat the wild plants
No they don’t taste too nice
The sea’s full of crap
Radiation we know
So we keep well away
From all that ebb and flow

And gradually we die
And they become food
We just have no choice
We know it sounds crude
The odd fish the odd bird
And the flies that come by
And we drink up the rain
And that is no lie

FUKUSHIMA rhe place
The meltdown the core
The radiation there is much more
Coming out of the plant
And into the sky
And falling back down on us all
Which is why

Hot spots are happening
In Tokyo
All those miles away
The strontium does go
So bad for our bones
So bad for our skin
Clearly left here
Its Japan’s new bin

Even the flowers and the trees
Look forlorn
Grotesque shapes and fruits
Even the lawn
In front of the houses
Is black and its dry
There are no blossoms
Dancing in the sky

The humans are gone
And only a few
Come back with some tins
Of food yes they do
The zone is danger
Red signs everywhere
But these are the humans
That are still aware

Risking their health
For us on the ground
The rest buggered off
Hardly a sound
Gone like the light
That once shone from the sky
It alright old boy
Yea that was a lie

Nothing is right
No nothing any more
With each passing day
Our own deaths for sure
Coming closer and closer
The food is no more
We eat from the dead
All the maggots and gore

FUKUSHIMA fhe nuclear station of
Power
From the explosion the terrible shower
Came down on us all many died many will
Die from the terror that on us all
Did spill

And still your world governments
Sick sods they are
Want to build more of them
They want to scar
Every inch of this planet
Destroy everything
When there’s solar and wind power
And waves that could bring

Much safer energy
